funnily enough I played this on Fight Night on Playstation the other night, try as I might I couldnt get Roy to win hardly any rounds without having to absorb some shocking frazier punches. Landed some great punches as Roy but was always getting caught with much bigger ones and so losing the round anyway! Ended up getting either KOed in 4 or 5 if I tried to land big ones, or being so evasive that I lost almost every round, and got narrowly UDed. Frazier sure can hit in Fight Night! He can eat up a quarter of your Chin strength with one good punch.

just a game, but it made me think of this thread. lol sorry I do love the game.

Frazier would have trouble landing his clubbing wide hands. This would be a great matchup style wise and I'm inclined to favor a prime RJJ here for a UD win because of his speed, footwork and general ring instinct.

Obviously Jones' chin is even worse than Fraziers so any big hand landing would send RJJ into a tailspin. But it'd be fun while it lasted. Good matchup.

I posted this in another thread, but its worth repeating:

Joe Frazier would obliterate and smash Roys jelly jaw so bad so, that the cheap seat folks would get to bring home fragments of Roys shattered mandible as trophies.

    What the ****? :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Smoking would come out smoking like he did against Bob Foster and end Roys suffering. The fighters you mentioned would ALL destroy RJJ.

Like posted earlier... Jones beat a piece of crap Ruiz...

Frazier blows Jones away in about two minutes. Joe cuts off the ring and it's all done.

    :happy Byrd = under-rated

Oh, yeah, dunno if JOe would be able to land flush on an evasive's Roy's head but his arms, ribs, hip-bones, and kidneys would be destroyed after this match.

I won't just dismiss the comment as others... probably correctly... have done but...

Frazier was no headhunter. He cut off the ring and worked the body better than any HW in history. My point is that the body is a much bigger target than the head and I suspect Joe would concentrate most of his efforts there before opening up his attack upstairs. Please rewatch Frazier-Ellis and Frazier-Machen to see how a peak Smokin' Joe dealt with movers.

Jones would not last as long as Foster did. Jones has no Chin and no Plan B. None. He gets brutally and embarrassingly KOed.

Based on what? For the record, I've already described in depth how a fight with Frazier would go down. I'm simply stating that I would objectively favor RJJ against the guys I listed. Fights with Walcott, Marciano and Tunney would be extremely close but he'd beat the other 2 guys in impressive fashion. Dempsey would get countered all night and Patterson would get caught at some point.
