I have my 3rd fight in 2 weeks at 56KG ( 123lbs ) and currently i am at about 59.5kg ( 131 lbs ). I run around 5 times a week and go to the boxing gym pretty often. However, i am having problems controlling my diet. I really love food, and am ill-disciplined when it comes to food. I managed to cut down about 1.5kg already, but it seems my weight is stablising ( won't go down ). I know it's possible to lose 3.5kg water weight ( 8lbs ), but how should i go about? Can someone give me detailed advice? THANK YOU VERY MUCH! -a hungry boxer..
i dont know how can you lose weight, but after you do this fight, you`ll have to move on higher weight if you want to have regular weight, this is not good for body
You don't want to lose that much water weight, it won't be good for performance. You should be on a calorie restricted diet eating nutritious foods with plenty of fibre until you gradually drop your weight to about 1-1.5kg above your fighting weight. If you need to lose the rest for a weigh in it will be easy by eating low sodium foods in the last 48 hours and eating low fibre foods. If you still need to lose a little more water weight you should be able to with no problem. How do you lose 3.5kg water weight? Sit in the sauna and feel like ****.
Also have small meals throughout the day, have your more carby foods around your workout and make sure you're on a calorie deficit but not by too much.
Losing water weight is NOT hard! Rehydrating properly n a few hours tops for amatures is the hard part. If i was you i wouldnt dehydrate myself but if u really need/want to lose 3.5 kg. Don't eat or drink anything after 12 noon the day before weigh in (don't stuff yourself beforehand) go for a run with layers on you. Go bed with 2/3 hoody's to make you sweat. Wake up don't eat or drink anything! If you have access to a sauna go in one for 1-1.5 hours FULLY CLOTHED, if not go for a run with layers . Weigh in, MAKE WEIGHT EVEN THOUGH YOU FEEL LIKE **** AND GET KNOCKED THE ****OUT PROBABLY. your choice mate
I kind of am. I dnt recommend dehydrating yourself as an amature because you don't have that much time to rehydrate. But if he wants to do it and asking for help on doing it i told him how to. Not responsible for the beating he takes
