It's gonna take serious money for hearn to pull this off. Bute is a major cash cow for interbox I doubt they'll let him fight in Nottingham. He was offering pavlik 1.3m to fight him at the bell centre so what was butes' purse there?? This would have to be sky box office ppv and at that would need at least 250,000 buys to be a runner. I'll wait til the announcement before I believe this fight is happening

I can't see Hearn having the money to make this fight viable, Bute is a huge ticket seller and I can only see PPV as a way of generating the same money Bute would get in Canada

Money is not an issue for Bute or Interbox this time around.

It is not an issue for Bute because he really want to fight Froch. He wants to fight Froch because Froch insulted Bute several times in the past couple of years (i.e. "Bute is hiding", "Bute will never fight outside of Canada", "Bute fights bums", "Bute would not last 6 rounds withhim", etc,). THis is personal to Bute...He kept quiet until December when he said that he hopes Froch beats Ward so he can shut up that big mouth of his (at that time Bute was considered in line to fight the winner). For Bute to say this is an indication of how much he hates Froch as he never trash talks.

Money is not an issue for Interbox because Froch just became the mandatory and because Bute made it clear to his promotor that he wants to destroy Froch. If he can actually do this in England, it would be even bigger than doing it in Montreal. And if he loses on points he still has a chance for a rematch as it will be stipulated in the contract.

He wants to embarass Froch in front of his own fans and then call out to Ward in the loudest way possible.

Bute should get all the credit in the world if he comes to the Uk to face Froch. It would be the perfect answer to all of his critics. I still don't think he will but it would make for a brilliant night of boxing

May 5th will be an awesome night of boxing, could easily sell 250,000 on box office, if sold right. Froch v Bute, Canelo v Shane, Mayweather fightin again & maybe Barker v Pirog, I know I'll be buying it

Awesome fight if it happens. I'm not a Bute fan, but my respect for him will increase if he takes this fight in England and if he were to beat Froch in England then I'd see him as the real deal. For Froch's part, Bute or Kessler rematch are the two obvious fights he should make and I give him a decent chance in either case.

    Insider and Briggs,
Nice of you to say that Bute should get the respect he deserves if he travels to England. He actually made it clear he wants to fight outside of Canada to answer his critics. First he stated that he wants to fight Ward in New York then when Ward refused he said he will even fight him in Oakland but Ward would hear nothing of it.

Now he is willing to travel to England but most Bute haters are still not happy no matter what he does. Some even go as far as saying that he hopes to fight Froch because for Bute this is an easier fight (????) than Direll (???).

We will have an amazing fight in Nottingham between 2 world class fighters.

    On WBN site..

Undefeated super-middleweight Lucian Bute has told his team that he is ready to give two-time world champion and Super-Six finalist Carl Froch the opportunity to challenge for his IBF belt and is even willing to travel to the Briton’s home country.

The two fighters have been linked to a home and way style double-header for the last few weeks and Bute has intensified the speculation by admitting the he wants the fight made in the near future.

“Leaving for training camp today. Just told Jean Bedard I am ready to fight Carl Froch, even in England. Let`s get this done!” stated the 30-0 champion.

The 31 year-old could now travel to Nottingham in May to fight the ‘Cobra’ if both sides can thrash out a deal - before a return contest later in the year on his Canadian home soil, whatever the result of the first fight.
