YesIagree that Brunos jab and boxing skills would give sanders problems.i voted for Bruno by ko but Sanders obviously has a shot i believe bruno was on a higher level Bruno ko in 6
Bruno had a 12 rds decision over McCall , but Sanders had a 12 rds decision over Puritty , something very few ever tried 2 do , Rahman 4 instance only tried 10 against Puritty , is it out of possibility that he would have tired/caught late if he had 2 go 2 more rds ? Wladimir tried and failed , Vitali stopped Puritty only due 2 cuts . Luckily 4 Tommy Morison he only had 2 go 10 with Puritty , no way he drew with him , I watched that fight twice . Very few ever tried and fewer succeeded in lasting 12 with Puritty , check every red spot in his resume , count d # of rds in it or d reason 4 d stoppage and notice that only Cleveland Woods ever really beat him , Larry Donald has a case 2 , but he only tried a 10 rds fight . Another big man stopped by Puritty was Jorge Luis Gonzalez , yet Sanders with his stamina issues outpointed him over d full 12 without visiting floor during d process nor was it a bad robbery . George Foreman is rumored 2 have serious stamina issues during his prime but way past it and partially disabled and fully obese he extended prime Holyfield d full 12 , KOd Moorer in d 12th rd , extended Morison , Briggs and Savarese d full 12 so did he really ever had stamina issues ? or maybe there were other reasons 2d outcomes of his fights with Ali & Young ?
rahman is the key to the mystery. broad fighter with a massive left jab and right cross, long reach but shorter than bruno. brunos jab and ability and comfortable performance when he turns southpaw at times was pretty impressive. just was poor locking up and protection himself. could only clinch and that was poorly executed. but bruos jab and long rich cross could go straight down the southpaw pipe. sanders wasnt fantastic when it came to the distance run but big frank could hustle his way to the later rounds. his activity and never giving his man space it hink gives bruno all the advantages he needed. also he beat up coetzee who was a white african so he can clearly knockout this white south afrikan aswell
Rahman's most decisive punch in d fight was a punch thrown from d ropes though , was it Bruno's way of fighting ? also , Coetzee was 6 years older than Bruno , wasn't he ? it wasn't a prime vs prime fight .
sanders in his prime, meaning pre wlad, was an excellent fighter. i think he is being sold short here. he had excellent hand speed and power to boot. and also, suprisingly, had very good movement. I think Sanders would stop Bruno early in a shoot out.
BUT remember m8, Sanders did not get rid of Rahman early in a shoot out, he could not do a Maskaev on him. And Bruno v.nearly stopped Tyson early in a shoot out. This a interesting fight IMO. Foreman HooooooooooooooooooooooK!:hat
self explanatory , and washed-up Truth Williams was not far away from stopping Bruno himself , not that he had any resemblance 2 Sanders . And this is supposed 2b prime vs prime . rly ? when did Sanders ever turn things around or did anything with 1 big punch ?
I like Sanders early, 1 or 2. The main reason would be Bruno facing a southpaw. I think Frank gets confused and doesn't get start quick and effective like he usually does. He gets gets clipped either lunging or missing by a straight shot he doesn't see. And Frank's survival instincts to kill 90 seconds when hurt aren't going to help against this guy. Sanders also had a nasty right hook and was tall enough so Bruno is in his range whenever Frank punches. I would have liked to have seen Bruno face more southpaws and like his chances against a Moorer or maybe Byrd than against that dart Sanders throws.
I consider Rahman way better then Bruno. And I think Sanders wasn't prime for Rahman. He wasn't even close to stopping Tyson Stop it.
Of course Sanders has a chance to land that big shot and hurt Bruno but if I was forced to bet I would take Bruno. He was superior to Sanders in just about every way.
Both at their best I would say Sanders gets him out of there in 4. I don't see Bruno avoiding that Sanders laser beam left. Not to mention Corrie would have a slight height and reach advantage also.
Interesting fight...Sanders' best work would be early on. He was a frontrunner and tended to become less effective as the rounds wore on. But still, he brings some interesting assets to the table...the southpaw stance, quick hands, good mobility and a big punch. I think most are familiar with the Sanders from the Rahman fight, and the Klitschko fights. One thing to keep in mind, was that he was close to 40 and grossly overweight for the Vitali fight. His condition was horrible. Earlier in his career, when he was younger, stamina wasn't an issue, or not a big enough issue for it to be a deciding factor. In many ways, he squandered his talent. He could have achieved more. Bruno I think has become underappreciated as time has moved on. I watched the first fight with Tyson again the other day, and Bruno gave a very credible performance. He did some cute things in there, hooking off the jab and punching to the body and then pivoting away. Quite impressive for a man mostly considered to be slow and mechanical. Of course, he also hit Tyson with that big left hook...Mike was too good ultimately, but Bruno did well. This is a hard fight to call. Bruno's jab was excellent, and he was a durable sort of guy. Very strong. Big power. More proven than Sanders against top-rate opposition. Sanders does bring some pretty potent tangibles himself though. Honestly, this could go either way. I'm leaning towards Frank here, but it's close. It would be a great fight.
Sanders is an inch taller but Frank had a significant reach advantage. Sanders only had a 77 inch reach. Bruno had very long arms with an 82 inch reach. Sander's would be dangerous early no doubt with his fast counter left, which was more than capable of stopping Bruno. But if it goes much further than 3 rounds you'd have to favour Bruno to stop a tiring Sanders. Usually if Sanders didn't KO you inside 3 rounds he'd usually win on points or get KO'ed himself. Bruno has only been stopped early once in his career in his last fight against Tyson. In all his other KO's he's been able to absorb enough punishment to last into the middle or late rounds. I see 3 possible outcomes. Sanders does a Wlad on Bruno and stops him early. Sanders is on top early but Bruno out of nowhere turns the tables and lands a crunching right hand and stops Sanders early, much like Sanders loss to Nate Tubbs. Or Sanders wins the early rounds probably hurting and maybe even flooring Bruno, but can't finish the job and tires and gets stopped in the middle rounds, much like his performance against Rahman. Personally I'd favour the 2 latter scenarios as the most likely outcome. Bruno by KO.
