This seems a pointless fight, i'd liked to have seen him fight Mckenzie. Hopefully that happens soon.

I can't see why he wouldn't want the fight, it's clear he has the power to take Maccarinelli out. Not saying it's a forgone conclusion that Mckenzie would win, far from it in fact, but for him to claim he doesnt want the fight seems highly dubious to me.

Don't see McKenzie as the sort of guy who ducks a fight. He'd fancy it against Big Mac.

He should be gunning for McKenzie then Bellew-McIntosh winner.

Massively puzzled by this fight. If you have no intention of campaigning at cruiser why take a championship fight at the weight? Surely a keep busy match at LHW could of been arranged if he's got something up his sleeve for later in the year, strange one for me.:think

 

It's stuff like this that makes me dislike the Enzo comeback.

With all respect for both fighters it's nothing but filler for a Boxnation card.

Well, this fight was announced on friday evening... was on Box Nation's website in the early hours of saturday morning.

Anyways, Enzo should win with a 5th Round stoppage. McPhilbin looked sloppy in his last fight and to celebrate winning the title he goes on a weekend drink binge... that's hardly professional!

the only real winner I see with this fight is Shane McPhilbin though. Why? Enzo Maccarinelli is a household name in british (if not world) boxing and if Shane somehow defeats Enzo then his profile will be boosted significantly.

It's a risky fight for Enzo too... he sells his fights nowadays on his own boxing history alone. Enzo is sort of like a been there and done it fighter and looks more and more like he's turning into a journeyman these days... he's going through the motions and fighting nobodies to stay ACTIVE!

but if he were to somehow lose to McPhilbin then I think he should just give up the ghost and stick to commentating on box nation and retire with his legacy and dignity in tact.

I've liked watching Enzo's fights... but do we really need to see this fight? more importantly I pay for Box Nation, I want some quality fights this ain't one of them. I'll watch it like all the other duff fights, why? because I've paid for them like everyone else.

 

I think Enzo will win this easily, as long as his chins holds out he is a fighter on another level to Mcphilbin

 

I don't see the big deal personally. He can still take this fight and continue at 175.

He could weigh in at 175 and still beat McPhilbin relatively easily.

If by any chance he lost this fight, he'd have to give it up. He's obviously not got the strongest chin but the men that have beaten him all have form. Haye obviously, Ola, Lebedev and Frenkel..... Kotlobay was being tipped by many to beat him and was blasted out inside a round.

Once Enzo lands a solid left hook to head or body the fight's over.

 

It a chance to win another British title.
