Sux if true and just means I'll have to get a HD version the day after as I aint subscribing to boxnation
Bittersweet for me. Really wanted it to be on sky sports (HD) so gutted in that respect. But as im one of the 10? boxnation subscribers, its quite possible they'll just use the HBO feed and commentary, so thats good, but not HD. Just please dont be on primetime with Amir Khan commentary. :-(
That should mean a Major subscription increase. Mayweather v Ortiz apparently did big numbers for Primetime. I assumed Sky would get this as part of the Golden Boy deal
Well there was a post on the BN facebook page a few hours ago from them saying that at this stage they wasn;t planning on showing it. As a BN subscriber, if they do get it then great, if not, then I shall watch via Sky Sports (if they get it that is). I don;t have Primetime nor will I pay for it, so I have a two out of three chance of viewing this live.
Fair play to Boxnation if they got it, I would have liked it on Sky if Im honest, better build up and picture quality, etc but It at least justifies me paying for Boxnation, still not happy about the Cleverly v Karpency bollocks though. :fire:fire
Would be surprised if Golden Boy stray from Sky for this. They are relying on Khan getting his belts back to set up Khan-Mayweather and that would defintiely be on Sky. Thats the one fight that would tempt them back to the ppv table outside of Pac-Mayweather. Boxnation surely doesn't have the funds for such a big card, which for once looks to have a tasty undercard with Alvarez and Winky Wright too, when its backers can't even win purse bids for its own fighters.
Well they will definately struggle for viewers in the UK, its not the sort of fight that will attract the people who havent signed up.
I cannot see this being on Boxnation what 's the point in Sky signing a deal with Golden boy and showing Khan' s fights if they aren't going to show Mayweather v Cotto? Sky could out bid Boxnation quite easily. I suppose it all depends though on how much Mayweather made through Primetime against Ortiz because he may want his fights PPV over here if he made more money than what he did through regular Sky Sports.
