No it's not. That would be Leon Lawson's problem. And guess what buddy, Leon Lawson can't promote for ****.

Bute-Dirrell in Detroit? For how much, 15K? Team Dirrell Promotions, what a lame joke.

And really, "meeting Showtime's demands"? Gimme a ****in break you impotent troll, Showtime execs were the ones who forced Bute to fight "that bum Magee" and "old past it Johnson coming off a loss". Now that Showtime wants Bute to fight a high risk low reward in Andre Dirrell, you're backing them up full tilt well knowing Bute is a high risk low reward for Ward.

The difference is, Interbox offered Goosen a Bute-Ward fight in Oakland (Goosen then said he wanted an easier fight for Ward)...

...where as Andre Dirrell said he wouldn't go to Canada. What a *****. :smooch

I don't thik it makes any financial sense staging a Dirrel-Bute fight in the US. The gate will be significantly greater in Canada. Dirrel is the one looking bad here given the fact that he wont travel. Showtime will pay Bute regardless of the fight being in Canada or the US.

Bute would be stupid leaving money behind for Dirrell. I could understand it if it was a fight with Ward, but surely not for a fight with Dirrell.

I don't disagree with the fact that it'll make more money in Canada, that is obvious. But for whatever reason Showtime wants a fight against an American, preferably in the US. So they should give Bute a guarantee and put it on, the backlash will ultimately be on them if the guarantee is enough to lure Bute out of Canada.

I know is SHO job to sell a fight but look carefully : American audience ( most of them ) are hungry for the big fights ( ex Mayweather vs Pacquiao etc ) where

fight each other , ok !
How Bute-Dirrell could attract american audience when Dirrell is unknown in his country ?? Do you get it ??
Froch/Kessler are better known names even in america than Andre Dirrell !
A good name would have been Bernard Hopkins but we know that he has some bussines with Chad ...... so I think after Bute will beat Froch ? then Ward should take Bute's challenge !

It's a sticky situation and I know of all this, Showtime is not fair in dismissing the Froch fight for Bute.

But fighting without Showtime or HBO's support against Froch won't do much for his name in America, unfortunately. A Hopkins fight would probably be the best option for Bute.

I cannot see them being willing to shell out more than the guaranteed 2M so the cost of lost gate rests solely on Interbox and I wont blame them for not wanting to do that. Not for Dirrell. For Ward/Kessler/Froch then maybe, but not Dirrell.

Showtime has laid an egg as far as I'm concerned. They want Ward-Bute. That's ultimately why they gave Bute that fat contract. Now they can see the scenario of Bute being a free agent without the fight getting made and subsequently they see Ward signing with HBO.

I think that after Bute will end successfully all the business with Froch the next step is to have a fight with Hopkins for the "american exposure market" . In this way he could get known in USA for a big next fight against Ward .

Showtime & HBO, both want to create american champions, it's logical, HBO has 28 mil subscribers and Showtime 20 mil; if Dirrell wins, even he isn't a name right now there will be an investment for the future; if Bute wins he beat an american olympic, it opens the road for a greater Ward-Bute fight.
Look at Andre Ward now, it's somehow a potential star; they are not ready to immediatly risk his future in a fight with Bute; even if he has the upper hand he still need some more advantages before taking Bute. He can beat him but right now it's too risky, it's a 50-50 fight ; plus value of a Bute-Ward fight may increase if they keep winning.

Well, that's the reason the Pascal fights were made: less risk/ high reward.
You are not reasonable if you state that a fight with Bute enters in that category

That someone is Froch, the guy who made Andre Ward no1 ; and that fight will most likely be in England, where Bute's drawing power is 0
