The euopean title shouldnt be a problem :rofl,

What planet do Paul Smith fans live on?? Proksa would seriously hurt Smith and finish him within 5, i dont get how anybody rates him he is an average british level fighter, this guy went life and death with the likes of Quigley and Dodson ffs.

The likes of Saunders and Ryder would beat him now. Craig MCewan would do a number on him, he should fight Mcewan next.

paul smith is probably the most over hyped boxer in history.
he has never fought and won anyone decent. the 2 best fighters he has faced (degale, groves) easily won him and these are 11/12 fight novices as such who are learning the sport whilst Smith, now he must be nearly 30 had 30 plus fights, only fought journeymen to beef up his k.o record. he is going nowhere just like the other liverpool hype jobs-stephen smith, liam smith, rocky fielding etc. they are all average boxers and the sooner they meet proper boxers (stephen did when he met selby, paul against degale, groves) the better becaue i am sick of all my fellow scousers banging on about these, they are bang average apart from Bellew & Price there isnt much out there to shout about yet. As for Paul Smith, retire before you get hurt

I guarentee Eddie Hearn would offer Paul Smith decent money to fight Gregorsz Prozska on March 17th.

He went to Super Middle to avoid Barker and Macklin who were the domestic champions at that point.

I've always thought Smith needed to box at middle, should do a few 10 rounders at middle and settle at the weight, by that time Saunders will be knocking on the door for the british title and that could be a good domestic fight.

Did Smith ever fight Barker as an amateur?

He had the ability to maybe do something a few years back off the buzz of the contender. But he doesnt look good at SMW, he looks soft and is far too small at the weight. Middleweight is where he belongs but he probably has left it too late now.

He's been doing that his whole career mate

BJS vs Smith is the right fight for now , not for 12 months

i was thinking smith might have a chance but after reading this post i can see the logic behind people not giving him a chance. In his defence though he was a bit fleshy at smw and very small so he did well to get to the level he was at lets see he should take it slowly though and not jump before he can walk.

    Where is avid :think

In all honesty Paul Smith is a boxer I have always followed closely and with a certain amount of frustration.

They guy certainly has pedigree but he is pushing 30 now and looks more on the slide than on the verge of cracking anything big. If properly managed and knuckled down and got some good activity at MW he could win the British title there and I certianly think Murray Smith would have been a good fight to make.

That said he should have been pushing for that fight 6-12 months ago. The guy is a big lad but not big enough for SMW but would be a sizeable middle.

Unlike many people on here would like to see him do something but cant help but think its a year or two too late should have focused on middle when there could have beena good little domestic round robin with Macklin Barker Murray Lee McEwan all in the mix not saying he would win those fights but I feel those would have been better for his career than Degale/Groves fights.

What really frustrates me is the fact he was a top am and his style in the pros relies on slightly above average power rather than his wealth of amateur experience. More worrying is his brother Stephen Smith who believe it or not used to be a very fluid counter puncher in the Frankie Gavin mould but also packed a punch. Now he seems to be reverting to a much more face first aggressive style.

He probably moved to Super-Middle because it was easier to make weight.
He has said in the past that he's lazy. Would like to see Smith v Murray at
some stage in the next 12 months.

What's up with his hand anyway? I saw him in our place the other week and his whole arm was in a cast?
