Ricky Burns vs Kevin Mitchell = MISMATCH

Could be a question of history repeating itself. Wasn't Ricky made to look ordinary by Al Hamidi and subsequently fought for and won the WBO in his next fight? :stir

 

Lora was intended to be a stay busy fight before a major showdown in the summer. And he was still better than Evensen, an injured Cook and Laryea. Go figure.

i dont doubt Ricky Burns got the better of kev, my point is you consistently state on here that Ricky got the better, which true fine, but as a repected trainer of a two weight world champion u should be first to know sparring is completely different to an actual fight. as a mitchell fan im glad u take encouragement from that day in sparring as to assess kevin on that day will be to under estimate him at your cost. kevin is frustrating, his problems ie drink and problems with police are inexcusable and im first to not make any excuses for him. even the katsidis fight i thought he was just beaten by the better man. my point is kevin is quicker more viscous, spitefull and hits alot harder than ricky, but thats my honest opinion and styles makes fights. kevin will be more penatrative than katsidis and at some point in the fight ricky will have to trade and i think mitchell will hurt him. boxing is a fantastic sport, the hardest discipline of all sports, the fight in the summer will be a british classic and may the best man win.

 

just for the sake of argument lets just say you can make a case for both fighters, could it come down the trainers, tactics ect...

Who would you rather have training you, drawing up a gameplan and in your corner night of the fight, Jimmy Tibbs or Billy Nelson?

 

Both are excellent coaches and I wouldn't mind either in my corner. Tibbs does have the experience edge, but Billy is a fantastic trainer. Neither side can have any complaints IMO

 

Fancy Burns strongly, though there's a good chance that he could hit the canvas at some point but I just can't see Mitchell stopping him or winning more than 4 rounds.

 

The thing is mate,its good Kevins off the drink ect behaving himself ect but you cant turn talent on like a light switch can you,all the wrong things will ultimately catch up with people even worse the fighter in the other corner is better than you.

 

Had a giggle at wee Kevin implying he only fights Ricky if the monies right for him as if hes the man lol,Kevin needs Ricky desperatly not the other way round please remember this,Kevin has no bargaining power whatsoever,We need to take care of Moises first then if Kevins a lucky boy he'll get a shot and a beating.

Well i was at Upton Park and it was half empty when Kevin boxed Katsitas,Burns will beat kevin even worse than Katsitas did over 12 rounds.
Kevin imo wont be able to go 12 hard hard round at Rickys workrate NO CHANCE SORRY TO DISAPPOINT YOU ENGLISH LOL

I reiterate my point, the fight will happen in the summer at a venue that will make Fwwank Waaarrren the most amount of money. Both fighters should be doing there upmost to cash in on this lucrative fight. Billy, Kevin will say that, not in any disrespect to u or Ricky Burns, but to make sure he gets the right amount of money, a bargaining ploy/ tactic that will see him rewarded. Firstly Ricky has to come through his fight, and I hope he does, if he doesn't don't be surprised if its in Paulus Moses Contract to fight Kevin next.
