i rated bradley above khan all along, i dont buy into this "bradley ducking khan" BS i believe him when he says he just wanted to change promoters, (which he did) he wasnt spending his time taking easy fights was he. im glad it turned out good for the lad, before all this khan bs came about he never dodged a challenge and has taken the biggest one out there for his next fight.
When brad ducked khan it looked like khan was gonna become number 1 but then he lost to the guy bradley had schooled so it's fair to consider brad as top dog since his victory over peterson.
Occasionally you will read posts that say that we don't need linearity as we can work out for ourselves who's number one. I think this thread shows that's not the case.
I never had him above Bradley but a lot of people did after the Judah fight, mainly based on the perceived duck as much as the performances the fighters had put un.
He bypassed the Khan fight to maintain a safe route to a hopeful Pacquiao fight. That's a duck. Nothing percieved about it.
He also had the managerial problems. It's a childish term in any case and usually far to simplistic for most situations in boxing, that's why I hedged it with "perceived".
No he never was in my opinion, Tim Bradley has been the best 140 pounder for the last 3 or 4 years, Petersen is better than Khan (he will show it again in the rematch), I think Matthyse and Soto would beat Khan, you've got Brandon Rios throwing his hat into the mix at 140 now and Maidana pushed Khan all the way and probably deserved a rematch.
Managerial problems that only became a serious issue upon the realization that staying undefeated increased the chances of a Pacquiao fight a year down the road.
Very true, sensible move by the looks of it and not enough to cost him the top spot after Khan beat Judah. Rank on ring performances whenever possible rather than real or imaginary "ducks".
