I am just glad that we have got a big night of boxing in Belfast, it is a stay busy fight for McCloskey and the Irish Prizefighter middleweights is going to be great for the under card.

Yeah Bren, I'm of the same view.

As I said on my facebook

"I think people are being a little harsh. If Matchroom announced that there was going to be an All-Ireland Prizefighter in Belfast we would be jumping up and down to go with delight, and then if they announced two weeks later that they were adding McCloskey to the bill versus TBA we would be jizzing in our under*******s!"

It's not really the point is it, when you consider Hearn promised McCloskey a world title fight after Khan, but could only get Prescott [decent enough]. A world title fight was promised after Prescott, but after all this time what do we get "Woodhouse" [a good british opponent but nothing else].
Then again Hearn must have got his fingers burnt last time out with McCloskey when only 5,000 of the potential 10,000 tickets were sold, when McCloskey and his team scared many people off claiming there was only £60 and £75 tickets left after a couple of days of ticket sales commencing, which was untrue. So I suppose you reap what you sow.:deal

A Woodhouse fight isn't all bad news. McCloskey stays active, reasonable opponent, who has improved since his losses, but not great. Still, as was previously mentioned the Prizefighter is good enough on its own so we could look at the McCloskey fight as a bonus.

An all-Ireland Prizefighter seems too good to be true. It'll be mooted but then probably the rug pulled away when it comes to the crunch. Sky will probably go thumbs down on the likes of Donnellan, Cruise, Healy etc but I hope it comes off. Some real domestic pride at stake will produce great fights I'd say.

Agree with all that Steve and i can see Sky not being happy with a few Healy certainly being one but the likes of Donnellan and Cruise would be well placed as the two subtitutes,The young lads would get the buzz of the event and even make a few bob for being standbys.
Im certain Gary hyde will want Heffron in there and sky will jump at that.
Rea fitz Okane and Hillerby will almost certainly be there if they wish,OBrien should get in the mix.2 spots left if we arent using Donnellan and Cruise in the starting line up,Who you got??
