He is to small to have truly elite strength, but for his size he is a beast. I would estimate he could bench about 300 pounds.

I really don't think so. Mosley, sure, he spends so much time lifting weights. Floyd is not a weight lifter. I'm going to tell you something: he doesn't lift weights regularly like that in the old static fashion, stuff that's good only for getting better at lifting weights. Guys who bench press are good at bench press.

I put up 255 at a body weight of 125 lbs, its not as if I really believe Floyd is not as strong as me, but I spent half my time doing ******ed strength training instead of, you know, drills to increase skill. Every time I saw him working out at 24 hour fitness, he ran on the treadmill and played basketball - he's not a weightlifter, didn't even touch the weights. If he benched that much I would be astounded.

Sure, he's strong physically, but weight lifting strength is completely different (and mostly more useless, for what it's worth).

I still think Mosley in his prime was stronger, even before the roids, than Floyd. Because of his style he rarely uses his strength to move guys around and in the Mosley fight Shane did look thinner than usual while Floyd looked stronger than he'd ever been. He didnt look as fast as he did vs Ortiz, but then Ortiz isnt known for his speed.

Not that it really matters, but wasn't Floyd benching about 280 and Mosley 350? 2010-2011?

heck yes. Mosley is a supernaturally strong guy in every sense of the word, though I think making welter as an old man "weakened" him and made him thinner at the weight than he was in his early thirties. Mosley is immensely strong from just a pound for pound weight lifting sense, and that used to show.

Mosley's I would believe anywhere from 320 even to 350, I just don't think Floyd puts ANY effort into stuff like benching, I would be super surprised if it he did bench in an organized way at all - too many other things to do. Roger hates standard weight lifting.

According to Cha cha, Floyd mayweather has commented that he does not bench press. This seems true to me.

I am not a big bench presser myself, but I have seen lots of smaller guys bench 300 pounds plus. Floyd is one of the best fighters the world has ever laid eyes on. No doubt he is blessed with amazing strength for his size as well as a near perfect nervous system. A real good nervous system alows a athlete to use all their muscle power where a average person might only use 50% of their true strength. And Floyd's nervous system is second to none.

I have no doubt in my mind that Floyd's strength is nothing short of exceptional for his size. Floyd would quickly be able to learn the bench press and would exsell at it like probably anything else he puts his mind to. And like I said I have seen guys naturally smaller then Floyd bench 300 pounds.

Q: Mayweather, i kno you'll dummy hatton so im curious when you hit up a strip club do you 'make it rain' and also how much can you bench press?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR:I haven't been out because I'm really focusing on putting a serious ass whooping on Ricky Hatton. I don't bench press.

Yes, but they DO it all the time. Roger doesn't let him.

Punching power also has nothing to do with bench: I have been hit by guys who bench 260 and laughed, and one tall lanky guy I saw struggling with 150 or so hit me and I felt concussed: he could punch with leverage and speed.

I just estimated Floyd could bench 300 pounds. I could be wrong, But I think you might be underestimating the truly elite athletes a little bit.
