We'd all be saying how Ali wouldn't have lasted 5 rounds against him. :deal

I think most would but that's all the more reason why ali's the greatest heavyweight ever, he defied the odds. however, I do think you'd have the serious ali fans saying ali wold've found a way and foreman was too crude.

Very true. Though 2-3 rounds at most.

  4. True. No on gave the old Ali any chance against this young strong Foreman. If Ali and Foreman never fought,George would have never been humbled, never would have changed his fighting style with Gil Clancy and would have dominated for a while. W would have gotten to see Foreman vs Shavers and Holmes.

I find it funny because idiots on this forum sometimes say "Bradley will NEVER beat Pac" or etc.

    100% true...

That was what everyone expected at the time, and even now it's hard to grasp Ali winning it... Even with todays knowledge of Ali's perfect tactic, his extremely good chin, the circumstances of the fight etc.

Definitely true. Its been widely documented that pretty much everybody thought Ali would lose and the fight was even in danger of being called off at one point.

I give all the praise to Ali for that victory, but the honest truth is that young George beat himself. Had Foreman humbled himself and come back right after that loss to fight again with a real game plan? History might have turned out differently.

There was no display of skilled Boxing. Footwork? Speed? Combinations? Positioning? Distance? No. It was a crafty old vet mentally manipulating an angry child. When the child's body betrayed him? The vet took him out.

This fight is one of the #1 displays of the mental side of Boxing, but it is more telling about where George's mind was at the time than of Ali's Boxing talents which were already in decline.

It's a bit of a myth that Ali was given no chance going into the fight. Foreman was the clear favourite (3-1 is most often quoted), but there were plenty of experts who thought Ali would be too crafty for Foreman. A poll of British journalists beforehand was split down the middle as to the winner. The Frazier and Norton blowouts were obviously at the forefront of people's minds, but the Peralta fights were not completely forgotten.

Back to the original question, a lot would depend on Foreman's career went from there. The chances are he would have ran into a skilled boxer who could weather his storm (Young or Holmes), or a puncher who happened to land first (Lyle or Shavers). Foreman's style and more importantly his psyche at the time was not cut out for a long championship reign.
