I find it hard to believe that Holyfield could only bench 190 pounds. Thats about what a average male can bench with no training. and Holyfield is one of the stronger looking specimens I have ever seen.

 what? If you have a 190lb male who is average, doesn't train regularly, doesn't lift, there is no way he comes close to benching his own bodyweight.

It depends if your a teenager or getting close to middle age. Mayweather at 35 is actually getting close to reaching his maximum strength and bone mass. Males are at their maximum strength at about age 40.

No way man. The average male can barely get up 150. I've trained in a gym since 1991. I rarely see even well trained guys do much more than 225 these days. I've seen countless guys atleast average size first join the gym and barely get a plate a side up on bench (which is 135 lbs) Average male can probably 1 rep 135-150. Some of the stronger ones about 185. I started benching 120 in grade 8 on universal, which was probably like 100 pounds free weight. 190 is a definite reach for the average untrained male using regular barbell bench.

Well, I am not an exspert about the nervous system, but your brain sends a message to your muscles through your nervous system. Some people like the best of the best athletes can send better messages to their muscles. And activate more of the muscles to perform the task at hand not only that but they can loosen the muscles not used to perform the task better so they don't restrict the muscles that are trying to punch or whatever.

Some one like Mayweather is likely mostly loose exsept for the muscles required to perform whatever the task is and not only does this make him faster and more expolsive but it gives him more endurance as he is not fighting against the muscles he does not need to use.

You here stories about people in life threating sitiations sometimes tapping into what some elite athletes can do strength wise. Its to do with the brain sending a stronger message to the muscles.

I threw that TV out. Have my 52 inch sony there now (bedroom). Big rear projection though that i moved there from my living room when I purchased a plasma. That TV did suck -- never watched it.

I don't know, I think its higher then 135-150. I kind of think quite a few of the real strong guys don't really train at gyms that is kind of what I have noticed. You do get some but there are many that are office workers or factory workers and have really weakend their muscles by not doing much and go to get in shape. If a guy has been a little physical through his life doing some exercises I think it is pretty close to 190 but maybe not.

Holyfield seems way to strong even when he was at crusierweight to be maxing out at 190. Personally I would have guessed his bench at over 350.
