Both fighters are outside fighters, have talked massive trash to hype fights and one is idolized by millions and the other is reduced to making comments on twitter to try and bring other athletes down.

Why is Mayweather not as idolized as Ali given his accomplishments?

Ali was witty and fun, mayweather is an idiot who behaves like a ****.
    The charisma difference is huge.

Ali had serious charisma, he could do it all in the ring but he could also make people laugh... he was a media dream.

Mayweather on the other hand, has the talent but also plays the villain and comes across as cocky - something not a lot of people take too.

People forget Ali was hated when he was active, that is all.

Charisma, Ali had it by the bucket loads and Floyd has none.

Also Ali took on insane challanges and won many fights where no one gave him a chance (Liston, Foreman), while Floyd is seen as someone who takes the easy road.

True. Ali said some of the most hateful and hurtful **** to his opponents and white people hated the hell out of him back in the day.

At the beginning yes, but towards the middle and end, there were children's cartoons made about him.
