Damn Thawk888, this interviewer is 0 and 2 against Ali. The interviewer is correct in that society played so much back then. Today, you can have a Puerto Rican woman and a Chinese marry without all the hardships of society. I understand Ali, but we are the human race and can't be compared to other creatures. Look, who ever heard of a gay bird or elephant. There is a reason why there is different skin colors and languages. You could almost be in heaven and in front of God and tell you lived exactly how God wanted. God says, "yes you did everything, but you hated Chinese people" and flush you go. Racism is the biggest problem we have even over disease and anything else you want to name.
Yea, at the time I suppose I understand what Ali was saying, especially being so outwardly faced with hate from whites in America and not really able to culturally interact with other minorities of the day. Not to mention, it was the racially separatist attitude that the "Nation Of Islam" had that they still preach to this day to a degree. Elijah Muhammad was really good at swaying fairly intelligent people to his viewpoint. It's just looking at it now, it all seems so ignorant. Unfortunately though, those very social, racial and cultural divides remain the same.
