It's nothing less than tragic to have seen such a proud champion, perennially thirsting for recognition, drop an unjust decision and his title to his absolute antithesis: a man perceived as a conniving, coddled showboat.

Except he was in fact beat.

Hagler had Leonard all to himself for 12 rounds in front of the whole wide world, couldn't pull the trigger, didn't land the game changer, and got out-thought and outfought fair and square.

So, in a hushed tone and, at the right moment, I would ask: "Marvelous, will you go to the grave without making peace with the Leonard decision?"

    Marvin normally fought southpaw.

He switched to "righty" for awhile early in the fight and lost a couple of rounds because of it.

He should of just "bull-rushed" SRL early when Ray was tentative.....like Marvin did Hearns.....and TKO'ed him.....which should have been fairly easy to do.

Marvin knows he fked up.....and he can't get over it.

OK aside from the SRL fight, for the love of god, anything else anyone would ask him? I was hoping for other good questions on his career aside from one single fight which was his last

"How did those Hearns right hands in the first round feel, if you felt them at all? Sure didn't look like they bothered you much."

If I did actually get the opportunity to ask him anything, I'd ask if he could give a detailed breakdown of how he felt matches with Monzon, Hopkins, and Robinson would go. Robbi's posted a little article on here a few times about how Hopkins feels he matches up with them, and it was really good stuff. I'd like to know Hagler's take on how he'd fare.

How does he feel about the state of boxing. If he gave rematches to Hamsho, why not give rematches to Duran and Hearns?

"Marv, how do you pronounce Vito's last name?" (During his career, he always called him, "Antofermio." I wonder if learning Italian has helped.)

Didn't McCallum once say Hagler told him Marvin is "sorry" their fight never occurred?

I would ask him how the hell he let Duran last the full 15 rounds.
