Is Whitaker in your Top 10 All time Fighters?

    I'm not just talking P4P per se.. just overall top 10 fighters.. part of the criteria of course is how they did upon moving up.. others who did.. get rankings based on how they ruled the division and who they faced. I've seen many P4P lists or 10 Ten general lists and Pea's usually not in the Top Ten. Moving up the way he did, winning the titles he did, looking as dominate as he did against great fighters.. to me places him solidly in the Top Ten... Do you, and if not, why not?

    Based on achievements I just can't in all good conscience have him that high. If we're talking strictly the best, most capable fighters we've seen on film, then he's easily up there.

    If you wouldn't mind, and or have time, I would like to see who you would have in your top ten that have accomplished more and beat better fighters in their career the way Pea dominated the ones he fought. I'm not saying you're wrong, just want to see who you would have above hiim.

    Greb, Robinson, Armstrong, Langford, Charles, Gans, Leonard, Ali, Ross, Moore, Canzoneri, McLarnin, etc. There's 12. My actual list has some glaring inconsistencies (as does any list) that I don't feel like posting at the moment. There's plenty of others in between the names listed, though.

    Whitaker would be just outside the top 20 for me.

    Pea ranks next to Jones Junior on my list, and both are just outside the top 10

    I think Whitaker is probably top 25 in a resume sense.

    In terms of actual ability and skill, he's top 10 for me. Easily.

    There's probably a good 50 fighters that have superior resumes.

    Not all were as dominant as Pea, so he'd probably move ahead of half of them.

    10 is too high unless you are doing a list based on h2h ability solely.

    The second best lightweight of all time, behind Benny Leonard. Also a really good welterweight. He also held light welterweight and light middleweight championships. He has an outstanding resume. Add that to the fact that he's one of the most skilled boxers ever. He belongs in the top 10.

    This is getting kinda silly now... Somebody said 50 people with better resumes... Come on. Even the people that some named.... Gans, walker, sugar ray Leonard n Archie Moore to name some... Did they beat top notch fighters like ramirez, vasquez, chavez, mcgirt, nelson, brazier ... I would also add a peak dlh as pea was well past it n I thought won. Did those I named... Have the solid fighters lime that AND dominate them the way pea did. I just don't see it. Some may have as many studs... Some doubt imo but non dominated the greats they faced like pea. Isn't that the ultimate criteria when judging a fingers resume?

    And Chavez and Nelson wasn´t exatcly at their peaks......especially Nelson.....
    McGirt was awesome, yes......and you will find a lot of opponents like Vasquez, Ramirez and Brazier in many resumes among these ATGs mentioned....and others not mentioned yet......like Jimmy Bivins for example......
