I noticed during the fight how few jabs Vitali was throwing, and I also noticed him shake his hand a few times...which was sort of weird, and the commentators even mentioned it.

After the fight Vitali was asked about it, and said:
“I fought with my right hand. I’m not ready to talk about it. It’s not excuses because I really wanted to knock him out very much.”

The most similar fighter to Chisora Vitali has faced recently is probably Arreola.

Against Arreola Vitali threw 519 jabs in 10 rounds.
Tonight Vitali threw 258 over 12 rounds.

Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated posted in his latest blog that Vitali suffered a hand/arm injury in the 4th round.

Yeah, I noticed he wasn't throwing the jab as much aswell. I put it down to him wanting to walk Chisora onto the right hand, what he was having so much success with all night

I was wondering why Vitali wasn't using his jab as much, Chisora was walking righti nto it but Vitali wasn't using it.

Props to Vitali for fighting 8 rounds with a possible injured hand
but even with a sledgehammer he couldn't knock out Derrick who is simply the Oliver McCall of this decade

Vitali is old he should retire nothing else. His time is over. His family should speak to him. He looks old and slow he lost the fight because of his old legs not because of his arms. He should thank God that Chisora is not a puncher. Never saw a Championship fight and the Champ with hands down and the opponent does not throw a punch.

Vitali won and now he should retire and let Wlad unify.

If Vitali needs surgery and treatment he'll be out of training for at least 4-5 months. Maybe he can squeeze in one more fight in the fall of 2012. His good-bye fight.

That's because Chisora's head is obviously solid bone, nothing else inside. Next match he should just stand there until the opponent's broken both hands, maybe then he can finish them off.

I'm not sure if it age catching up, or an injury. Vitali did not look good last night. In fact this is his worst performance, but he still won easy.

At least Haye showed his broken toe. The last three punks who got exposed by Chisora have come out with this injury BS yet provided no proof.
