McCloskey was ranked number 10 before Khan actually signed to fight him

Rios has been fighting bums Acosta was a boderline contender, recently his fight with murray was probably his best win, he is exciting but needs to fight someone with a chance of beating him. He is in a weak division, only recently burns going up has made it a decent division.

Guerrero has had a poor run of fighters he has beaten, Katsidis is his best win - Judah, Kotelnik, Pauli, Maidana - all above Katsidis.

Lopez - Marquez was old and way over the hill.

Good effort and decent list but your ranking has mistakes in my opinion and your explanations for those rankings are very flawed - no disrespect.

I honestly don't think you realise the difference in class between LW and LWW.

We'll have to agree to disagree

No disrespect, but your responses are very limited and contradictory. I disagree with much of what you say. I'd love to see some of your list and point out the massive inconsistencies.

Like you said, agree to disagree.

Acosta, a "borderline contender?" The Ring rankings, which you hold as gospel when it comes to McCloskey despite no one else feeling he was top 10 contender, ranked Acosta as the #1 LW in the world when Rios beat him. Rios inherited that position (only behind Ring champ JMM).

    Come on, dude...

He showed world class boxing ability over his run the past two years.

His FOTY-caliber win over Martinez is huge, as Martinez was the top dog of his division.

Showed a lot of his talent, which I believe in more than you (apparently; not a bad thing, it just explains his ranking), even in the Laryea title defense.

Certainly, his jump up in weight and victory over a game Katsidis in his first fight there gave him the jump into the low 30's.

I see him as, at the moment, better than most below him and few above him. It's not an exact science, but that's often essentially how it goes.

Nice top 100 man. A+ for effort. I have my own changes on the ranking based on my own observation but I respect your list. Must be hard to consider everything.

i was exaggerating a bit with McCloskey, but LWW is far superior than LW, McCloskey would beat acosta H2H i think.

Khans resume and recent run >>> maidana's and rios's
    yet he is ranked lower

    Good effort... good read

Only two points..... Ricky Burns above Khan? I like burns, but I do not think he has done enough to be above Khan

Also Nathan Cleverly at 87, He would go into the top 30 on my list

    Other than that great read

Not sure about the latter 80, but your top 20 are great. Kirkland though, much higher after the angulo win, like top 40. oh and some guy with only 9 fights, ranked above someone like lebedev?

sorry for hating, but overall I like it.

replace 2 with 3 and solid list. 6 and 5 is debatable.

    I respect your points.

Read through all the above posts regarding my Khan ranking.

Cleverly in the top 30? No. Aside from the very good win over Murat, he has a handful of very solid victories, but nothing great. Bellew, Kuziemski, than who? I think many people would have him lower.

    Thanks.

    I laughed here... Me too.

    Cool.

Not hating at all. It's a top 100 P4P, I'd hope people disagreed heavily. Well, that's actually not true...

-Kirkland I agree in a H2H sense is a top 40 fighter. But combined with what he has done, particularly post-prison time, he hasn't earned to be higher than all those other guys, in my opinion.

-Ioka and Rigondeaux are the 9-0 fighters. Ioka is, along with Joyi, the top two guys in his division (105 lbs). Sorry, but the Cordoba and Hernandez wins which Rigondeaux and Ioka hold, respectively, trump everything on Lebedev's resume aside from the Huck loss. Which is no match to the said fighters' best wins. Just, look into them, I don't think it is wrong to rate those two guys where they are.

I really don't think Gamboa is top 10. I greatly disagree with that. If he beats Rios, he becomes a clear cut "top 7 guy" (Floyd, Pac, JMM, Donaire, Ward, Sergio, *Gamboa*).

At the moment however, aside from getting additional ups for "skills" AKA "everyones' own opinion of talent," Gamboa has only really beat Mtagwa, Barros, Salido, Solis, and Ponce de Leon. The Salido performance was great, as his individual performances always are. But the credit can only go so far here. Not the kind of achievements that put him into that top 10 (which I believe are firm, regardless of the order of those 10).

I debated on Pac and JMM greatly. I think it will be justified over their next fight(s).

Call me a skeptic on Sergio. I think he is elite, but I really don't think he is better than Ward resume-wise even, nor as skilled.

    ---

    Thanks everybody!
