No one's saying you cannot carry your opponent, but to name the round to a group of friends for the purposes of cleaning up on the betting .... that's different.

It happens all the time. But boxers are not supposed to admit that.

Betting can be manipulated in ways we don't even know about, so what Froch is doing is well on his way on a slippery slope of fight-fixing.

The fact that Froch was able to name the round makes me question the legitimacy of the fight being open to public bet.
Bookers decide what matches can be bet on. It's their mistake they chose a total missmatch.

Wouldn't it be funny if Haye tried to delay knocking out Carl Thompson in 2004 so friends and family could clean up at the bookies?

    That's a good point.
I think it was a title match though, British title or something.

When Froch was the one one the front foot in the last round?

    I'm a Ward fan but you're just a ****.

If Haye didn't have all his money on a Wlad UD12 he would have kicked his azz

Its fight fixing and thats wrong. Even if he told the press and everyone else that it would be over in 5 then fair enough. But to actually carry the guy is wrong.

Just saw Froch on Sky trying to justify the comment about what he said earlier. The guy couldn't talk properly, there was something in his mouth while he was trying to speak...his foot. The ****ing idiot.

Strange. Froch looked no idiot to me, he's been a pro for about 10 years, he should know that this kind of action is illegal. At first, I thought he released that declaration on purpose, having some cunning plan in mind, but right now I'm more tempted to attribute his unrequested self-incrimination to some childish relic: "see how good I am since I'm able to decide when exactly my opponent will be KOed". It still makes little sense to publicly mention the gaming purpose of his action: either he really wants to be suspended (for some unknown reason), or he is not so bright-minded after all. Your comment points to the second alternative.
