haye didn't take one forward step during the entire altercation.

he defended himself against a convicted criminal who has assaulted women & police officers, been convicted of carrying an offensive weapon & just the day before had assaulted another boxer in a an unprovoked attack.

He didn't grab the tripod and smash it on Don Charles and Adam Booth as they were wrestling on the floor? :deal

    It's all on video.

I dont have to. I know any half decent lawyer can make the case that this was self defense. Even watching the clip for the umpteenth time ive just heard a Zimbabwean accented voice shout "run David! run!" as Chisora marched towards Haye. All Haye's lawyer requires is reasonable doubt. From the video there is far more evidence than even "reasonable" doubt.

guy who repeatedly threatens to assault you completely unprovoked & in a completely calm, matter of fact manner comes toward you followed by his entire entourage acting like he's off his nut & about to assault you:

you are clearly entitled to believe he is about to assault you.

throw in chisora's history & self defence is ironed on. doesn't even matter what haye did after this all escalated. he was attempting to preserve his safety & get the **** out of there...which he did. no court in the world sends him down.

From the video there's absolutely no doubt Haye was smashing down a tripod on people on the ground who no longer were a threat to him.

You guys constantly bring up Chisora. This is about Don Charles. He was lying on the ground and Haye tried to assault him with a weapon. It's in the video, deal with it.

Believe it or not you're still defining self defense.
As long as Chisora got up at the end and could still walk it means Haye hasn't even properly managed to defend himself :).

the heat of the moment stuff doesn't matter...

haye didn't initiate it & was the one who left. that is what will be considered.

steven gerrard & 6 mates gave a bloke lying on the floor a good kicking for 5 minutes & he got off cos the bloke pushed him first so it was self defence. it's not about what happens when the situation gets out of control.

you've just got a bug up your ass cos wlad couldn't give haye a pizza face & make your avatar look less gay.

It's not self defense if you throw the first punch AND you have a weapon in your hand when you throw that punch.

self defence means you acted because you feared for your safety. :hi:

Charles was a clear and present danger. Twice he had been whacked by Haye and he still kept coming forward. Not just Charles but Chisora's entire entourage were in the vicinity. Im sure any two bit lawyer could present a case saying Haye felt threatened. I would have felt threatened if it were me, im sure you would feel threatened too if you were in the same position.

For a second lets assume you were Charles. Do you think Charles has a case for GBH or assault against Haye? Remember, Charles is the one walking forward, the aggressor, no?
