one could argue floyd fighting once a year has actually hindered him rather than helped him, floyd gets caught with more shots now than ever before. Even roger and his father says floyd needs to stay more active.:deal

Normal as in human. Not normal as in average. Don't get lost in translation, Cotto stated they have nothing but respect for Maywheathers accomplishments inside the ring. Even went as far as saying that nobodies perfect when talking about his problems outside of it.

He got caught by Mosley twice. That's 2 punches in 12 rounds.

And he got caught a lot more than he should have by Ortiz because he opened up more. Floyd shockingly missed a lot against a guy that's easy to hit.

    :deal

I noticed that too and was a bit surprised. I thought things were going to turn interesting as the fight went on. Then Ortiz got all stupid and paid the price.

His tone and general demeanor suggests nothing other than serious business. I like this guy a lot and I think he can do great things for Cotto in this fight.

being inactive is not a good thing in boxing. its just as bad as taking a lot of beatings. so many boxers have gotten their asses kicked because of ring rust while trying to make a comeback. its a good thing that floyd stays in shape. he was pretty rusty against Ortiz but hopefully that was just ring rust. at the end of the day Floyd is still 35 and cant do anything but decline and get worse.

negative, we have not seen enough of the ortiz fight for us say that.

but for floyd, it's different. he needs them to heal his body. and floyd always stays in the gym so fighting once a year does him more good than harm. floyd is in a better position than cotto is now.

In terms of a durable mentality, sure, but for Cotto, that may be possible to reverse. I don't think Floyd is getting too old, but if he does, it would take more than a moral victory in the ring or a newly inspiring trainer to help him against the best.
