Because everyone else said no. Mormeck wasn't the first choice. Arreola said he wasn't ready yet. Povetkin has ducked multiple times, etc... You have to at least give props to Mormeck for stepping up and taking the fight. AND, at least Mormeck is always in excellent shape.
Wladmir and Vitali must have so much pressure on them from different lobby's etc. I hope they remain undefeated and retire in a couple of years time. It would be nice to see a new breed of HW's emerge.

That's the problem. Wladimir takes on the first available opponent who would accept the fight, and now he's got to steamroll them just to meet expectations.
