I mean think about it on a pound-for-pound scale.

Vitali has never been truly beaten, and he has fought some dangerous offensive fighters such as Briggs, Arreola and more. He rarely takes clean punches to the head, if you look at punchstat the numbers are always incredibly low.

Look at a guy like Sweet Pea for comparrison

Whittaker gets a lot of praise for being a defensive genius, however he used to drop rounds on the reguar which is something that you never see with Vitali

    No

His defence is based on the fact he is one of if not THE biggest heavyweight around (height and reach)...

    Hard to land on him.

He is a sh*tty defensive fighter...

Watch Mayweather if you want to see a modern defensive master..

And I don't like either of them guys so dont call me a *****...

    Klitscko defensive moves -

    head movement? - no
    Shoulder roll? - no
Keeping his range - er yes?
    Body movement? - no
    tight guard? - not really...
    footwork - nah.

He is knowhere near the best defensive fighter CURRENTLY

    of ALL TIME? no chance.

i don't think so , you have to look at the quality of opposition, when he fought lewis his defence wasnt very good at all there are many many better defensive fighters in many weight classes

While I agree with you that VK's defence looks so good because of his height, I think you are selling him for short. The guy is so good in anticipating opponent's moves it is scary. I'm sure it has something to do with his kick boxing career (he is by far the most unorthodox HW champ recently). Toney is certainly a better defensive fighter, but he was learning his trade as a MW. For a HW, VK is almost an unsolvable puzzle.

Vitali is slick in an awkward way, he anticipates almost everything, makes you miss and makes you pay. Just look at what he did to Chisora, Vitali couldn't keep the swarmer off him at all because he couldn't use his left hand, yet Chisora was unable to land any meaningful **** on him.

For those who claim that Vitali has the sturdiest chin in HW ever, i dont think that's necessarily the case, it's just that he's very hard to hit, despite the fact he keeps his hands low all the time. Vitali the defensive master.

If not the best then definitely in the top 3 all time. I mean has anybody ever been able to land solid shots on him? Yeah he's bigger than almost everybody he fights but that doesn't mean his opponents can't land punches on him. If anybody here can show me any evidence that shows he's not one of the best defensive fighters off all time, feel free to make your case. Until then accept his greatness as one of the best defensive fighters of all time :deal

Anybody would get owned by a sucker punch (or slap in this case)

It took Vitali by surprise and Chisora backpeddled immediately and hid behind the safety of his goons before Vitali could retaliate. He did the same thing when Wlad confronted him just after the match ended, what a **** :-(
