Sexxy Sergio named Sexiest Boxer by Sports Illustrated

    When SI held the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Launch Party in Las Vegas last week, FightSaga caught up with the models and asked them to select their 'sexiest boxer of the year.'

    The models have spoken and this years winner of the annual "Sexiest Boxer of the Year" is Argentinean Middleweight Sergio Martinez.

    Floyd Mayweather Jr placed second.

    Sponsored by FightSaga, the annual face-off pits boxing's best looking combatants going head to head with judges using two photographs, one action shot of each fighter in the ring and one fashion shot outside it.

    This years nominees were:

    1. Sergio Martinez
    2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    3. Victor Ortiz
    4 Diego Magdaleno
    5. Miguel Cotto
    6 Saul "Canelo" Alvarez

    Along with bragging rights, Sergio Martinez will receive an honorary plaque which will be presented to him and a copy of the 2012 Sports Illustrated publication signed by each model with a personal message to him.

    One model, who asked to remain anonymous, commented on why she voted for Martinez.

    "Sergio's very handsome and has a great body. He looks like a model himself. Is he single?"

    Floyd Mayweather Jr. received praise for his fashion sense and would have won hands down for "best dressed." He received honorable mention this year and his smile was mentioned as his sexiest quality.
