As for the brawl, I think Chisora was to blame. What was Haye supposed to do ? But Haye should have been panned for being there and shouting his mouth off about a Vitali fight anyway, even if the brawl hadn't occured. It's crazy that BoxNation had Haye there as a pundit, and he was so visible at the fight. Haye should be shunned for his disgraceful effort last year in the super-fight with Wladimir. It's shitty fights like that on PPV that have killed the sport in the minds of the average customer. It's predictable that the likes of Bunce et al. are seriously and uncritically building up Haye vs Vitali "this summer". As some PPV bonanza, I assume. **** that, Haye should come on Channel 5 and fight Tyson Fury or something like that, in a proper exciting fight, because he gets the chance to **** everyone over yet again. But that's just my opinion. maybe i should stop expecting these kinds of minimum standards for the boxing game. It seems to have went to **** a long time ago.
Watch the bit when Chisora says 'you wanna say it to my face' when he's on stage it's there you see he's starting to lose plot. Haye served justice for Chisora's actions at weekend.
I kind of agree, but I don't think justice has been served. He may have shocked Chisora a bit, but Chisora really just walked through it all, and Haye ended up running away. Just like Vitali, Haye failed to knock Chisora out. I think it will be up to the boxing authorities to serve justice on Chisora. He needs to be banned.
Never been a fan of Dereck, but must say he's growing on me seeing the way he's pissing everyone off. Boxing needs characters like Chisora. He punked himself in this incident with Haye though. For someone who's meant to have 'street smarts'.
If only David Haye hadn't been born, chisora wouldn't have been forced to act a pricked all weekend and get himself smacked. If only... Durex, righting the world's ills before they ever happen.
Haye was at the press conference with no right to be there and it was only going to ever result in trouble being caused. He threw the first punch which started the whole brawl and he glassed Chisora. Chisora shouldn't have gone upto Haye admitedly, but there was no obvious evidence that Chisora was going to get physically violent with Haye. Haye also took it too far with the tripod which could have caused serious damage
Thread - Chisora has had pushing matches with a load of other heavies, C. Baker, Both Klitshckos, Helenius...bite someone ear in the ring. Said he was gonna slap and have a war with Haye.
I was worried for his mental health until I read this part: :think Fair and unbiased opinion there Briggs.
The mistake he made was, he gave off a certain vibe whilst in his mind wanting to do something different to that vibe he was giving off. I don't know if that made sense. 'Street' 101 mistake. You don't say,"i'm ganna give you a slap" to someone, step to him and at the same time go there with a microphone in hand just wanting some banter (which i think is what he intended) but Haye wasn't to know that. Chisora's vibe suggested something different. The Klitscho's, especially Wlad was stirring it up as well. He was sitting at the front row saying to Haye "Did you get that ***** slap yet?" and "Run David, run" So Haye in his mind was expecting Chisora to do something to him when he came over. So he got his off first, which i don't know about everyone else but that's what i was always told. Get off first and guard your grill. lol The mistake Haye made was getting the bottles and tripods to start flying around. What people don't understand is. Punching Chisora wouldn't have been a big deal, but once those 'weapons' were thrown it was a little different. That's why Chisora went nuts and started talking about 'shooting' and 'burning'. 'Burn him' Means shoot him, btw. Not literally burn him. But in Chisora mind once you start using weapons, it's anything goes. That's why my fear was this getting worse and escalating horribly because Dereck is not the type to let things go. I thought the whole thing was 'funny' and in the whole good for them and the sport. It wasn't a big deal imo and created a MASSIVE talking point and a fight that now makes sense. Financially. Haye now as an opponent other than the Klitschko's who will give him what he wants in terms of moolah. Boxing NEEDS characters. And more to the point characters who are also winners. More so now then ever before. They create talking points, keep things rolling over etc. There is NOTHING better than a controversial winner. Can you imagine if the likes of Chisora and Fury were actually very good? All the other ingredients are there for mainstream superstardom.
