Vitali goes 52-2 against Liston's competition.

Both losses decisions to Ali, who was Nearly-Peaked & Peak respectively.

The injury layoff doesn't matter, because Post-Layoff Vitali still only loses to Ali, of Sonny's comp.

Vitali would be favourite against all of them apart from Ali.

The Cassius Clay of 1964 would beat him by runaway decision. The more mature Ali of one year later would stop Vitali.

    Agreed,

I don't see Marty Marshal or Leotis Martin beating Vitali Klitschko, even if Klitschko fought both of them at the exact same respective stages of his career that Liston fought them.... At 37 years of age, Vitali still triumphs over Martin and with only 7 pro fights, he still beats Marshal. Muhammad Ali is the only one that I'd pick to get the victory, and I don't see any of Liston's other victims like Williams, Machen, Folley, or Patterson winning either.

This. ...He'd even lose to Ali the first time in the same way. :hey...Minus the cheating with chemicals.

    Good post. :good

Also, Vitali would easily beat both Martin & Marshal in his Pro-Debut, & at 40 years of age.

...even if it was a Tag-Team match.

Indeed, the first meeting with Ali would replace the Byrd fight, in this alternative reality.

...depends what kind of chemicals you mean 'Ears.

Beats them all, including Clay, who was skittish and green. I think within the next year or so, Ali was too good, though.

Marty Marshall was 180lbs against Sonny & debuted at 168lbs... his record was a mediocre 18-5-2 when he beat Liston. While Leotis Martin was 199lbs against Sonny & debuted at 160lbs, & in 11 of his fights he weighed below the Lightheavy limit.

These guys would be far too small to be remotely competitive against Vitali.

@Flea Man: Before you mention Byrd, he was 210lbs & as seen by his other "David & Goliath" performances against McCline & Golota*, he can handle modern Superheavyweights. Also, Byrd caused Vitali to injure his shoulder with his incredibly elusive headmovement.

*The Golota fight can be scored either way, but you get my point.
