Just going to ask this question again since there is still Klitschko fans bringing it up on the main page.

Before you say Vitali is two years older than that Lewis was, remember that that version of Lewis was 2 stone above his prime weight and had only fought once in over 2 years before that bout.

Prime Lennox vs. 40 year old Vitali with shoulder injury who was stumbling around the ring for 8 rounds? I would be surprised if there's any need for a debate at all.

Lewis had 44 fights and I believe that was Vitali's 46th. Could argue that Lewis had been in a lot more tough battles than Vitali so you could argue either was more shot than the other. Still Lewis should win pretty comfortably

You do know 2 stone is 28 pounds, don't you? Don't talk rubbish.

Lewis was a maximum of 10 pounds over his prime weight. I personally think he looked great at 250, and against Vitali he was only 256.

    Anyway, I pick Lewis.

prime lewis would be way too fast for slow Klit even further slowed by age. then factor in Lewis's ringcraft and accuracy and much heavier blows.

he would be brave and try but he would either get TKOed early or quit not far beyond round 10, or if he stayed longer, would get knocked out.

    1992 Lewis v Vitali = KO 3
    1996 Lewis v Vitali = KO 4
    1999 Lewis v Vitali = KO 5
    2003 Lewis v Vitali = TKO 6

Lewis was 6.5 pounds heavier than in his fight with Mike Tyson, a fight he himself considered one of his defining fights.

For a super-heavyweight of his size, it's a difference between taking a **** before the weight-in or holding it in.

Bottom line is: if Lennox was in as bad a shape as his rabid fans are making him out to be, he would have died during the ring walk.

So why do Klit fans make such a deal about a half decent fight vs a 38 year old Lewis?

Karl Jade, fair play, but I'd say Lewis was at his best between 230-240. His Rahman loss was at 252lb I think.

This Vitali is a fearless and inteligent man but he's no wonder man of HWT boxing whereas Lewis was since wiping out Dereck Williams, Jean Chanet, Gary Mason, Frank Bruno and most american and european upcomers in Golota, Grant ( in 1), Phil Jackson, Razor Ruddock, Shannon Briggs, Tommy Morrisson, man, Lewis is an all time great HWT. Just cause the fight beteween the two at Vitali's prime and one faded Lewis doesn't mean anything. A prime Lewis against a 40 year old Vitali ( after so many injuries)? Lewis inside the scheduled 12 no doubts about it.

at least Klit came in and tried when he fought Lewis and he went for it, even if it was obvious thast he wouldnt be able to maintain the momentum for long.

He didnt back off to try and protect himself or coast it, he went for it even though it meant getting his eye torn up.

Klit is a brave guy despite his limitations against a shot ATG.
