He's not even one of my modern favourites, but I love watching some of Margarito's sparring. I think the footage of Pacquiao's sparring explains a lot about his defensive vulnerabilities, a lot of the time he just backs up and let's sparring partners hit him against the ropes, THEN returns fire.

I am absolutely useless with computers, it took me a while to get it working but its simple now I've got the hang of it.

Use www.gifsoup.com register a free account, post the youtube clip you want to use, then pop in a start & finish time & hey presto.

With Manny that's not a bad idea, the best way to catch him clean is to throw with him or counter punch him as he starts a flurry.

Selcuk Aydin vs Jo Jo Dan II (114-111 Dan)

This fight slipped under a lot of peoples radars when it took place late last year, mine included. Their first fight was well publicised due to it's controversial nature, in which Dan, despite suffering a first round knockdown, managed to use his nifty defensive reflexes to avoid Aydins wild bombs for much of the fight and counter with his own shots, winning handily in the eyes of most spectators. This fight followed a similar dynamic, but with a different execution by the Romanian. He was knocked down in the first round, again, but similarly to the first fight refused to let it dissuade him. However Dan was not about the defense this time - he was all attack, throwing in huge volume and outworking Aydin massively throughout the course of the fight. Seriously, Dan just threw punches all night long like a small, pasty Paul Williams, and to be honest, it worked quite well. Despite being caught and dropped again in the 11th, an Aydin deduction in the last helped reduce the effect of the 2 KD's, not that they would have mattered anyway as Dan won almost all of the rounds on my card with his work rate.

Aydin is a very dissapointing fighter, typical Wegner trained trollop. He's fast and powerful, he's got a good amateur pedigree, but he sucks ass when he steps in the ropes. He's not no work rate at all, he just wings in wild bombs, which if they catch an opponent, **** them up badly, but if they miss - which they do most of the time - then he just needlessly wastes his energy and allows himself to be outworked. If not for the KD's, which can be put down to unusual recklessnes on Dan's part, he would have lost on the judges scorecards, which were surprisingly close (you'd have expected them to give it to Aydin wide, but they were fair). I can't personally see a way to give it to Aydin, he got outworked in nearly every round, so it's another robbery in my book, but Dan shouldn't have been so callous at times, though he was trying to prove a point.

They need a third IMO, in a neutral venue this time.

Apart from the Broner and Alexander fights, I caught up on the Sky card which was around 5 fights I think and I've just watched Chul-Ho Kim v Koki Ishii and I'm going to watch some lightweight Duran fights.

I suppose we were both scoring on what we liked more from each fighter. A lot of toneys high profil fights are extremely hard to score. the fella doesnt make it easy on himself in fights, wih his usual low activtiy style.

Anyways, im going to give the Hector Comacho-Edwin rosario fight a watch now, will post my scorecard here. Ive heard it was an excellent fight, but Comacho was never the same after it.

    John Murray Vs Scott Lawton
    John Murray Vs Jon Thaxton

Murray dominant in both, was a shame for Thaxton - his last fight would've liked him to have a bit more chance to go out fighting more, he was on the slide though, still a top career.

I watched a couple of Michael Nunn fights, his stunning KO of Sumbu Kalambay (Kalambays only stoppage loss) and Nunn's only KO defeat to James Toney.

Back then, no internet, little coverage, I heard the result before I saw the fight and figured it must've been a typo or something. I mean, how the **** could Michael Nunn knock out Kalambay?

It made no sense to me, haha.
