Toney is set to defend his IBA World heavyweight championship against Boby Gunn (21-4) on 7th April 2012, Toney lost a decision against Lebedev in his last fight but was basically fighting on one leg for 11 rounds. It will be interesting to see what James has left. He does seem to be at a reasonable weight right now and stil has 7 weeks to go. If Toney wins, this could directly lead to a title fight at cruiserweight or a more meaningful fight at heavyweight. I would like to see James capture the cruiserweight championship again. Its ridiculous how easily people get title shots, toney is done and needs to retire, hos speech is already slurring.
Gloved? Meh. Honestly, Toney challenging Gunn for his bareknuckle world championship (did you know Gunn's the bareknuckle heavyweight champ? Well he is...) would be far more interesting than an IBA defense...I'm not sure the bareknuckle championship itself isn't more prestigious than the IBA belt. :think
Toney has been holding the real heavyweight title hostage since his points victory over Fres Oquendo in 2008
You thought they would strip Toney for merely peacing out for a few years, when he lends their bauble all two shreds of its credibility?
Toney will school this fool. Gunn is tough and credible challenger but Toney will be too much for him. Its also good to see that Toney is getting in the ring quickly, after recovering from his injury
