No ban for Tyson biting Lewis. No ban for Larry Holmes drop kicking Berbick off the top of a car. This is boxing, **** happens.
he has previous with the board of control. namely the biting incident. add together the 3 incidents over in germany. actually make that 4 incidents when u include them threats he made after the scuffle. he hasn't learned and deserves a ban. :deal simple as.
vegas suspended his licence for a year. he didn't get away scott free. vegas also refused him for the lennox fight after that scuffle. it was gonna be held in vegas. instead went to memphis. atsch
:deal Two fighters who don't like each other having a fight, the moral indignation from some quarters this past week has been totally disproportionate. Maybe it's because i'm old fashioned, or maybe i'm just because i'm not a massive homo Exactly what i said when i was watching it, if he'd be licking his lips if either or both those guys were his fighters.
He's not gonna get some life-time ban. But I don't know about this agenda angle. "Things have a momentum of their own." Tony Soprano said that, and he's right too, you can't make these judgements in a bubble. If there's enough fuss it will affect the outcome and it's just a question of pressure from the wider world than any agenda in my opinion. We see politicians bend to public outcry over topics much more important than Derek Chisora. So he might get whacked with something that feels a bit OTT to us but will satisfy the wider public.
If Chisora gets a ban then that is the real disgrace, the bottom line is he had a post fight scuffle, nobody was seriously hurt and boxing has seen and heard much worse. infact as the days go by and i look back at it the more i think Chisora and Haye just embarrassed themselves, the pair of them for different reasons have made themselves look rather idiotic. if the BBBofC want to stop "damage" to boxing maybe they should be a little more harsh on incompetent judging and **** poor refereeing we are seeing on a near weekly basis. another thing bothering me is british ex world champions and current world champions calling for a ban, these selfish ****ers have either made their money are making money but wish to deny somebody else earning a living.
In Britain the slap, the spit and the scuffle would have ALL been prevented by security. The German Federation want a ban but they need to look at the three events that happened on their watch. Lewis v Rahman on ESPN was bad - no BBBofC ban and fight happened. The knee jerk chaos must NOT end with Del's head on a platter to make a few people happy - history dictates that he does NOT get a ban. Adios.
I agree with Bunce on all this, a fine would be enough imo, if people want stronger action taken, what about a ban suspended like you do in courts?
