Marcos Maidana vs. Devon Alexander - Devon UD/ or surprise KO Although Devon has had a fair few gift decisions lately I can actually see him winning this legit. Maidana is strong, relentless and a big puncher. He doesn't cut the ring off well, has a poor defence and pretty much comes in on straight lines. I can see Devon barking his way to clear UD with a few shaky moments. Might even see a KD the way he caught Urango. Devon hasn't look to good of late but in my opinion Maidana is a nice style for him besides the punch. I think the jab and movement will be enough for most of the fight. Can see Devon slipping out too easy if Maidana catches him on the ropes as well. Khan even looked to have good movement against maidana. Even if Maidana gets the better of the fight the King will make sure the cards are "right".
Ah, I see. With pleasure. Cleverly KO: I notice most don't think this outcome is likely, which has surprised me somewhat. I know Karpency has never been stopped (I should, it's his main selling point :yep) but he did touch down against Murat, and he's well out his league agaisnt Cleverly hit. Plus this fights in Britain if I'm not mistaken. British stoppage anyone? Clev will bombard him with shots in one of the late rounds and the ref will call a halt IMO. Enzo TKO: Relatively straight forward pick. Healy hasn't got great punch resistance and Enzo is known to slaughter the lesser calibre fighters who can't take a shot. Wouldn't be surprised if Macca did it in a round, again. Gavin TKO: I think Frankie will be up for this. He might ease himself into the fight early on, but there's only one outcome, and I can't see anything other than McIntyre laid out on the canvas. Gavins just too many levels above him for it to go the distance, never mind be competitive. Broner UD: I was bantering with a TKO, but I think Perez might throw Broner a couple of problems, making the Problem a bit apprehensive and content to 'box' from the outside and win a decision. I think Perez might suprise Broner, Adrien clearly doesn't rate him, though I reckon Perez punches harder than his record suggests. He didn't look pillow fisted in his last outing. Broner's just too fast for Perez IMO, a bit bigger too I think, so despite some close moments where Perez's aggresion might cause Broner some discomfort, he'll throw enough shots and stay on the outside enough to win. Might even knock him out if he goes for it. Alexander UD: It's 10 rounds, in St Louis. Maidana starts fairly slow, Alexander always quick off the blocks. Matthysse who is tighter than Maidana, and a fair bit quicker of foot too got outboxed early on, and while I think Maidana's pressure and aggresion will definitely give Alexander problems late on, he's always going to have an advantage from a good start, and as long as he finishes on his feet, the judges will score it for him. Controversy will not be surprising at all. Povetkin TKO: Apparently he's fat for this one, but he'll still be bigger than Huck, and I think Povetkins new stlye (where he doesn't box so much anymore) will do him favours as he wears Huck down and stops him late on. Hucks stamina has always been under scrutiny, I think with the added weight, and the weight of Povetkins punches, he'll tire and get stopped around the 11th.
