70-63 Cleverly. Landed some good punches on Karpency that round, but really needs to pour it on him at this point. Karpency is terribly overmatched and the longer this lasts the worse it'll reflect on Cleverly.

This Ameri-Can shouldn't be in this fight, he's miles away from world level.
And Cleverly is avoiding real opposition, and he was complaining about how hard that is nowadays on Bunce's boxing hour recently... "nowadays the public expects a champion to fight the best, while in earlier years you could take a couple of easy defences in a row"... CLEVERLY'S WORDS!

Nice, but you're wasting your best material on this fight, good sir. :bart

    Round 8

Lead left by Karpency, caught on the glove. Cleverly pushes in, flurries to the body, leans against Karpency and then shoulders him backward. Jabs to the face by Cleverly, and a right uppercut. Wild overhand left by Karpency misses. Cleverly is throwing underhands from outside, then leaning in against Karpency. Flush left hook by Cleverly. Karpency leans straight back against the ropes and eats a right. Karpency forks out a lead left from off the ropes, and Cleverly covers up before taking his own turn to attack again. Left hook by Cleverly, and Karpency figures "If I'm getting hit anyway, may as well throw back" and scores a couple of soft shots. Cleverly grabs his arms to pin him in place and then tee off to the body. Nice left upper-hook inside by Cleverly. Flurry to the body, favoring the left. Karpency steps off to his right throwing a wild right hook. Karpency backs out and then dives in with a left hand lead, missing.

    80-72 Cleverly

I will say one thing...Based on how he looks, Cleverly wouldn't be out of place when matched with better LH's. I could see him doing a real number on Cloud, and probably out-working Campillo as well, just to use two examples.

80-72 Cleverly. Probably Karpency's best round, Cleverly seemed to take a bit of a breather. Fight has moved into the center of the ring now. Crowd seems a bit restless. Can't blame them, really. :-((

Cleverly has no power whatsoever. He's some pseudo slick imitiation of Calzaghe.
