    Devon needs to stop smotheering his own work. He has a horrible habit of rushing in after landing and hurting Maidana.

    Round 9

    Bodywork from Alexander is battering Maidana, Maidana lands one hook to the body and that is the only offensive success I've seen. Devon is dominating Maidana and he looks gassed and outclassed.

    Maidana is a good fighter, but he is what he is, which is a limited tough guy. He's good enough to push certain fighters, but not good enough to beat them. Remember, he struggled with old Morales and Chop Chop Corley.

    Why not? He's the better boxer in there, deserves the praise. Maidana is just a tough guy. Limited skills, overrated power.

    Maidana throws a wild uppecut. Alexander hammers down with a left and they tie up. The right arm of Alexander and left arm of Maidana seem to be constantly entwined - equal fault of both men. Smoger warns Maidana for hitting behind the head on the break. FLUSH RIGHT JAB by Alexander, snapped Maidana's head back sharply. Alexander is dancing around Maidana, very fast on his toes and popping counters while barking and grunting. Quick straight flurries by Alexander. Maidana is lunging and missing badly with his right hand. Smoger is breaking the clinches, breathing heavily at having to essentially heave on 300 lbs in two directions. Maidana is flapping all over, ineffective. Alexander is flurrying back and holding. Ugly stuff now. A minute left. Clinch. Smoger breaks. Again and again. Lead left by Alexander. Another. Maidana misses a right. Clinch. Alexander hops in place, pops a quick 1-2. Another. Clinch.
