This is 10x2" rounds, for the WBC female flyweight title.

 

Round 1

Juarez is landing the left jab well to the body, backing Toktaulova up under heavy pressure. Toktaulova can barely get off, clearly uncomfortable fighting while backing up. Juarez zinging her with that jab, and throwing long right uppercuts. Toktaulova just flashes combos back at her, getting blocked. Women's rounds are so short!!!

10-9 Juarez

 

Round 2

Toktaulova is trying to drop down quickly to slip the jab, almost doing a full split when she does so and then resurfacing under Juarez's lovely boobs. Juarez is turned southpaw, landing the right jab as effectively as she was landing the left. Now back to orthodox, tapping that left jab on Toktaulova's eye. Toktaulova tries to jab the body, and then lean in to trade body shots. Juarez is faster and stronger. They tangle in a clinch, and get broken up.

20-18 Juarez

 

Round 3

They hug. Juarez jabs and weaves coming forward. Toktaulova jumps back, and tries to lob in a high right hand jumping back inside. Juarez is catching her, holding her, hitting her with uppercuts. Juarez turns southpaw and throws a right hook. Toktaulova ducks under it and grabs her by the love handles. Sloppy infighting. Juarez gets her out behind the jab. Toktaulova tries to tie up. Juarez is back to orthodox, slapping with left hooks. Toktaulova is stepping through and holding. Now Toktaulova makes an effort to push up her left jab. Another clinch. Juarez complains of headbutts from the shorter gal barging in.

30-27 Juarez

 

Round 4

Toktaulova is getting up on her toes and hooking wildly with her left while stepping around to the left. Juarez tries to hold her down with the pinpoint left jab. Toktaulova is putting her arms out and ensnaring Juarez's in them, keeping her tied up and unable to jab. Juarez ducks and gets put in a headlock. Toktaulova drops her hands and backs out. She ducks down and goes to the body before tying up again. Juarez keeps smashing her ribs in. Slapping left hook to the braid by Toktaulova. Right and left hooks by Juarez.

Toktaulova's most effective round. :bart I'm still giving it to the hottie.

40-36 Juarez

Mariana "Barbie" Juarez makes a successful sixth defense of her title.


Maybe it's time to take notice of her as one of those "p4p elites" in women's boxing. (since let's be honest, most guys only deign to bother learning the names of a dozen female boxers at a time...and that's if they're hardcore boxing fans...and usually then that dozen names is made up in equal parts of the hottest ones and the p4p best, which only occasionally overlap...)

 

After her best round, where she made it really scrappy and ugly and landed some good body shots. :conf
