Well, a very select few aside, he's not really going to get that at 130lbs anyways. Which is one reason I'd like him to move up, the other being that there's no way he should be fighting at super feather. He's fought at 140 before(and didn't exactly look out of shape there, either), and as the image posted demonstrates he wields a ridiculous size advantage over just about all of his opponents as a result of being able to cut so much weight.

I agree with you that it's hard to tell how good he is as of right now, but I'd still consider him a talented fighter all the same(when he has the correct gameplan, anyways). He's still kind of at prospect level for me, or probably just passed it in actuality. Having a ''world'' title shouldn't automatically put him at a level he hasn't reached yet. Put him in with dudes that can somewhat match him for size and we'll see what he's really made of I say.

 

I've had enough of modern boxing, it's ****. And as this is a modern boxing forum I just come across like a 'hater', so I'm done. I'll still see y'all in the Choi but I don't have anything other than negative things to say about boxing so what's the point?

It's not about that though; if he can safely make that weight and others can't - unlucky. Its not his fault SFW is so weak or that the Uchiyama fight can't be made - even though he would win it.

 

Of course it's not his fault, but if he can move up to 135, still be bigger than most of the fighters there, all the while testing himself to a greater extent than he is at his current weight and in all likelihood making more money all the while, why not?

The importance of youth is underestimated on this forum. It is happening with Clev and Broner on two threads right now. They need time to grow. Why should Clev fight Hopkins? Why should Broner fight JMM or Rios? Give them time. If you were their promoters thats exactly what you would do.

Though it gets ruined by Cleverly Vs Karpency getting hyped everywhere as a genuine world title fight. Then Vince Cleverly etc. chatting mad **** about him being best in the world.

It's not good for the sport to go on like that.

When did I say anything about a Rios or Gamboa? There's no real greater risk in stepping up to 135 and fighting an Antillon, Edner Cherry, or Escobedo, hell, even Katsidis than there is fighting Eloy Perez other than sheer size, and he's still probably bigger than those guys anyways. What would be the downside to him stepping up in weight and fighting one of those, who, perhaps Cherry aside, he'd still command a greater purse against than he did vs Perez if we're looking at it from a ''business'' perspective(which I hate doing)? Added to that, it makes more sense for his progression as a fighter for if/when he does in fact step up to the highest level, whenever that may be.

Nah man, I loved the toothpick, when I was a kid I used to walk round the house saying 'something happen to this gold chico, something happen to you', it had so much swagger.

With Bret, technically he is one of the GOATS, and the sharpshooter is the GOAT wrestling move imo, I lived through his era, I'm 26, but still, Austin will always be my number one, even though Bret did him at Wrestlemania 13, they both beat each other and ****.
