when your towering over welterweights and your campaigning at 130 you need to move up. there is no one for him at 130 seriously

Let him take on Miguel Acosta or Antonio Demarco

He can make the weight, w/o issues. So there is no need to move up yet. But, when he does, it shouldn't be an issue, as he is a pretty big guy for SFW.

I think he should move up because size and talent wise, its wont be any problem. I would move him up to 135 and let him work that for a while cause that would really tighten his game up. All the champions at 130 have similar records but at 135 , now he could get some real work in there. He could clean that up and have some really good wins on his resume. You got Linares, Rickey Burns, Demarco, Rios ( if he hangs around ) and the master,Juan Manuel. If he goes down that line starting with Linares, by the time he gets to the master he will be ready to retire his ass. Then all he has to do is hold that class down and wait on Gary Russell Jr. cause he's comming and that will be your classic little mans Ali and Frazier and will produce big cash. Although GRJ is far more talented than Frazier was. Its about the personality and style clash. Thats my wish list.:bbb

If you can make weight, then everything is cool. These guys just want to see him lose, so they see nobody doing it at 130, so they want him to go to a weight were somebody may be able to do it.
Broner needs to do what ever he's comfortable with

    Delusional.

I thought he lost to Ponce del Leon.

    Typical US decision .

Dont let Lopez move up and destroy this hype.

you're a clown!!! the kid is 22 and 5'7, he's not huge or towering over welterweights, dumbass!!! Average height for a welterweight= 5'8 1/2. So no he's actually smaller than most welterweights genius. He's not even huge for the division, he's bigger than the average 130 fighter but there are plenty of guys at 130 and below that are 5'7 or taller.

You wanna cry about a guy being too big for the divisions he's in look at Donaire who's 5'6 and fighting at Bantam where he literally towers over everyone and he used to fight at flyweight AT 5'6!!!

Or Mike Jones who is 6 feet tall fighting at Welter!!!

Or Ricky Burns who's 5'10 and was fighting at 130 and ran from the division when broner was his mandatory and the fight was all set to go on HBO.

Or Celestino Cabballero who is 5'11 and was at his best at 122!!!

Or Chavez Jr who fights at 160 but walks around close to 200lbs!

Or Khan who is 5'10 at JWW!!

5'7 isn't huge for SFW....you gonna ***** at the other top guy at SFW Uchiyama for being way too big as well? Cause he's an inch taller than Broner.....other top fighters at 130 who are taller than Broner: Burgos= 5'8.5, Ao= same height 5'7, Salgado= 5'9, Roman Martinez= 5'8, Litzau= 5'10

In fact going through the top 10 fighters ranked by boxrec at 130 Broner is the shortest one!!!

    What a **** post by a **** poster. :deal:deal:deal

What the **** does age have anything to do with?
Is there an age limit at 135 or something? Is there no 22 year old 135 fighter ever????

    That is one dumb logic.

But if he can make weight then he should not have to move up. He fights where can make weight just like everyone else. If it is 130 then it is 130.

i'm sure he will eventually but being only 22 and average height for his division where he has no troubles making weight there's no rush to move up. There'll be a slew of guys at 126 moving up in no time that'll make the division much more interesting.

:|:| "hes too good. he needs to move up!" as long as there is no issue about him making weight, whats the problem? Rios and Donaire made a name for themselves by beating smaller guys. Donaire FINALLY fought someone his own size while Rios is getting ready to fight someone 2 divisions below him. why is there no one complaining about that?
