Not exactly the same thing is it? But given the SMWs respective track records, you can make fairly accurate assumptions. And even without that, the fact still remains, nothing materializes when it comes to Bute. I have no idea how you guys keep up with all this, but I'd have grown tired of it by 2010, let alone 2012.
the reason is simple...S6, take that away andd it would be as difficult. its getting way to difficulte the get sign contracts...lots of bitchin and accusation but no signature on the dotted line. , boxing should restructer and elimanate promoters and have purses split depending on the outcome of fight. have a fixed amount for fight, ko = $ or % ud = $ or % and so on. its a bit simplistic but i hope u get my drift. avoid the soap operas.
It is far from the same thing. Suggesting that Froch would fight Dirrell is silly. Suggesting Bute wants to be paid is not.
Why is it not the same thing? Assumptions, educated guesses, call them whatever you like, they're not facts. I know the waiting game is silly, but as Sabs mentioned top dogs fighting top dogs without the S6 would have entailed the same difficulty in terms of negotiations -- not sure Sauerland would have been happy to go to Oakland with Kessler for a single fight deal involving only Goosen's money and a small Showtime fee. Ward was handed a chance for success, and he took it - thumbs up to him.
You know, Bat.. making educated assumptions/guesses, you'll be called a blatant hater and a no-life thieving scum. But, roll the Bute quire this time next year, and they'll still be drumming on about Froch, Ward, Dirrells and every other top SMW. And we will still be nothing but low life scum hating *******s. Its the way she goes when it comes to Bute, its just the way she goes. I don't mind it, I'm having a blast seeing Bute straight up rob these people out of fair fights, which I think his loyal fans deserve. What bothers me is, these guys are blatantly defending him and Interbox when they so obviously are milking money out of the very same fans pockets!
Making an educated guess like 'Bute is too high risk / low reward for Ward or Froch at this point therefore they want to avoid the fight' gets you a nuthugger tag. I don't see what you're on about.
History will remember Froch taking his WBC title to USA and defending against Jermain Taylor and rallying from behind to score a KO. History will remember Wards complete dominance of top elite SMWs.
I genuinely believe that the Bute-stans wants to see him against the elite as much as anybody, but them blaming the other party for fights not happening on a continous basis is just pathetic. It's hard to believe they continue to buy Interbox's propaganda, but then again we've seen it all before with several brits and germans trhough the years. The difference today is that we have boxingforums that exhibits the very fans that pays Bute's salaries as brainless sheeps.
Sure. Doesn't void my point though. "Nuthuggers" are nuthuggers for you no matter how educated their assumptions are, where as you seem to think you're spreading the truth with your own assumptions.
I'm not always spreading the truth, I am sometimes provoking the fanatics on here, but my main points have always been: When it comes to Bute and Interbox, they're consistently inconsistent when it comes to materializing big(ger) fights. With such a deep pool of good fighters, I am having a very hard time believing everyone is unavailable to make a fight with, specially with some of these peoples track records (Like Froch's who is the best in boxing, point blank.). Thats all there is to it, really. And you can defend him however much you want, but you will still be disappointed with the fact that he never fights anyone of legitimacy, and you know that as much as I and any other realistic boxing fan does.
At this point, don't forget, I'm defending neutrality with respect to opinions towards "who's at fault". Interbox just can't catch a break with some of the fanatics at the opposite end of the spectrum. We wanted Bute to fight a Super Six contender, and people say it's a shot guy coming off a loss... yet, who else was available? I still can't figure out why Andre Dirrell declined a Bute fight in Montreal on the premise that Bute should fight him in Detroit when the entire card would be for his uncle to organize. Just baffles me. Before Ward's comeback to training (re: now), that's all Showtime wanted for Bute and the money would have been appealing IMO. I'm seriously hoping that, by Wednesday, we know where Goosen & Interbox stand on a Ward-Bute fight re: Bedard meeting with Showtime on Monday and re: Ward's Twitter where he says he's "ready" for a Bute fight.
I agree that there could be probably a money-related issue tricking the finding of an agreement. I don't agree with "It probably means that Bute wants a monsterpurse for leaving his comfortzone". You don't know whether Interbox financial claims are excessive or not, you are just making a wild guess. After all, were them judged excessive by Froch&Hearn, they should have answered simply with some "f**k off!". But up till now, they didn't: negotiations are still running. So your guess should not be so likely. Let's read that tweet again. A guy called Joe Hume (@god_of_thearena) tweets Carl Froch & interboxbute: "wow that would be amazing, don't think you would get a fair decision in canada so that's gr8 news". The point made by this guy is about how great would be to have the Froch-Bute match on English soil (cuz he fears some alleged Canadian home bias). Carl Froch answers: "still waiting on @interboxbute he talks a mean trip to the UK!". The answer has two key points: 1. "still waiting" (meaning that according to Carl Froch, it's up to Interbox to answer them, while J. Bédard says the opposite, see this thread's starting point) and 2. "mean trip". The latter keywords can be interpreted in many ways since there are many potential reasons to call some trip "mean". Money might be one of these reasons, possible home bias another one (see Dirrell fight), the two-match schedule could be a third one, intended TV coverage of the fight might be another one. Even if one chooses to believe 100% that what Carl Froch says is accurate and even if one decides it's all about money, one cannot deduce that Bute has exagerate financial claims. After all, he has a major belt and he has a certain price, he's no worthless bum to be payed, say, 1 Krone (I picked randomly an amount you were very affectionate to ). That's correct: in fact if an event probably happens it has to be also the most probable event (the contrary doesn't hold though). Your claim's validity is still the same: null koma null. No thanks. I know you're not a troll but a decent contributor. Sometimes you still like to flirt with troll mode on, maybe you do that for your own fun. Sorry, it isn't. The only thing which Froch's tweet says crystal clear is that in his opinion the current negotiation status for the Froch-Bute fight in England does not make happy the team Interbox. See above.
Mini 'hint' update from Hearn; it SEEMS he's working on a Nottingham card in which case Carl would officially be getting a well deserved homecoming (whether vs Bute or otherwise). Eddie Hearn ‏ @EddieHearn @Irish_Tez @tigerlilyodp you are on the list Tez will be making final calls this week..if not you can fight on Nottingham bill in May
