Hopkins could punch at earlier in his career. he had some good knock outs then and had good ko percentage thou. But that was some weird fight, the whole saga.
And soon after Hopkins becomes a partner @ GBP ..Yeah there was no fixing in that fight ..Yeah right ..
LOL @ 35% of the people here thinking it was a fix. Yes, because Oscar would willingly throw a fight in order to sign a hot commodity like Bernard Hopkins as a partner with GBP. Message boards in general are some of the most conspiracy-happy places in the world. Its as though there's a healthy contingent of people who genuinely believe reality itself is controlled by a small group who predetermine everything, no matter how minute or unimportant.

I see from the poll results we still have 76 oscarsexuals. I thought they mostly died out but the nutsack swinging is as strong as ever. If you sign Hopkins to your promotion team is he worth more or less with a win over Oscar? Oh hes worth more so maybe you throw the fight to guarantee him the win and make more money in the future. Dont think it was a fix,just Oscar quit cos the way the fight was heading,he was probably going to be on the receiving end of some punishment!
It was later said that Oscar was extremely depressed after that fight due to being KO'd. He was embarrassed and didn't even jog for a month let alone train. I remember his brother saying this years after.
Do you guys not think someone was calling for a bodyshot due to Oscar being over his prime weight and open to them? It seems pretty obvious Hopkins would have been working on the body all through camp.
