For the record Magee's purse against Bute was 200.000 USD. That means the total amount of cash generated by that fight was 1.400.000 USD.
preaty soon you will have gone thrue your ABC's for gategorising bute's opponents. then you can subcategorise them with added 1-ABCDE.....2 ABC... and so on, have you nothing better to do?:hi:
I'm saying he's probably being a tad economical with the truth. I don't believe Froch was given a career best payday with no option clause and various other technicalities. I just object to Bute saying "We offered Froch a million bucks" then many of his fans assume Froch has refused the biggest payday of his career for some illicit reason. It's not as straightforward as Bute is alleged to have stated and anyone who thinks it is has a far too simplistic view of the machinations of boxing matchmaking.People are believing Froch has said no as if it's purely a case of refusing a straight mil. I don't believe it and it will take more than Bute saying it for me to stand corrected. Don King tells the world that Tim Witherspoon got $1.2m for beating Bruno. He neglects to mention Tim walked away with 90k BEFORE tax.

There is only two romanian glass gimps in here, well three if you count the alias that goes under "palpatine". Flashy K.O Beastsideboxing Palpatine All are probably one and the same, as I have a hard time believing any nation can host such atrocious gimps.
Dunno, didya have an ol' friend called Mark Cooper?! If you refer to some ESB former user, I'm afraid I am not the one you might think of. Actually, I don't think someone mentioned anything about a Froch's alleged illicit reason. The raw fact is: Bute claims Interbox has offered Froch $ 1M to fight him in Montreal. We know for sure that Interbox offer (whatever it was) was not accepted by Froch & Hearn. Our forum colleague BatTheMan (by no means a huge Bute fan) claimed Froch's reason to refute the offer was he felt lowballed with this amount of money. I argued that the alleged $ 1M offer cannot be seen as lowballing. I think rather that Froch wants to fight at home 1. because he believes he has better chances against Bute in his hometown, 2. because he wants to please his fans with another belt fight and 3. because he feels that after so much away fights, he is entitled to a home match. 1, 2 & 3 are legitimate reasons to refute the offer without implying the offer didn't satisfy him at the level of money income (as our colleague claimed). Thanks for the input. So the total available money for the fighters in a match aired by Showtime was $ 1.4M. Now I would like to hear how much available money does our colleague BatTheMan believe that an eventual Bute-Froch match in Montreal could produce without Showtime support.
I'm only focusing on you because I can often rely on you to bring a bit of reality to proceedings mate. I fear this will grow arms and legs and the Militia will run and run with it.atsch When a touted challenger comes to a hometown champion,9 times out of ten there will be a tonne of clauses and option demands. The only ones who don't get these are unwanted mandatories or unappealing "soft" challengers. Maybe Bute has played a masterstroke here.He knows his very loyal fans are demanding an improvement in opponents and I'm sure he knows there are many who hang on his every word,so to suggest Froch is so scared he won't even take a career high payday may well be a PR move of excellent calibre. He lets his fans know he's chasing the fight they want, while at the same time implying that Froch is so cold on the fight,he won't take a million bucks. Some of us are (thankfully) a bit more sceptical of these things. And it has nothing to do with it being Froch/Bute. I would be sceptical of such a scenario no matter who was involved.:bart
