    In terms of achievement
    Holyfield
    Jones
    Hopkins
    Toney

    As a fighter p4p
    Toney
    Jones
    Holyfield
    Hopkins

    IMO. But it's tricky.

Jones was phenomenal but Toney could fight in his sleep.

    Good thread.

His longevity is legendary, his top wins and overall standard of opposition are lesser than the other 3. What's his top win? Trinidad? Winky did the same pretty much. Tarver? Jones and Harding beat better versions. Nowhere near as good as Jones wins over Toney/Hopkins, Toney's wins over Nunn/McCallum or Holyfield's wins over Tyson/Bowe

BHOP has actually conned people into thinking he's better than RJJ, best for best, by the cunning use of old-man glasses. :eek:ld

    Resume isn't my only criteria.

It's a good grouping these 4. I'd be tempted to put them in the same tier and then rank them based on how good they looked at their best (hopkins v tito; jones v hill; toney v barkley; holyfield v douglas?)

I think that's what I do generally, put guys in a tier and then split them on peak performance (p4p) or h2h (divisional).

I couldn't say if these would be in the same ten but quality wise there isn't a lot between them.

    Holyfield/Jones
    Hopkins
    Toney

Tricky thread and ive kind of bottled it. ive typed a few different possibilities and im not totally sure abut my order. I went with Jones joint top because he does have outstanding wins over 2 fighters in the shortlist. I also think he would have beaten everybody Hopkins and Toney have beaten in their prime and he would would have beaten all the guys they lost to.

Holyfield is up there because not only did he unify two divisions, he made a career of beating bigger and/or more favoured oponents. I do not put any value in his loss to Toney and think he wouldve handled him had he been younger.

I cant argue of jones, Holyfield or Hopklins take the top spot as I think they have solid claims to it. Toney i feel is the weakest link out of the four and has not had the cosistency of the other guys.

This is truth, the man is indeed a gimp. Im annoyed seeing his name, even before i read a word of his posts. I can picture him at his computer on a sunny day, with his curtains closed shut, sullenly chain smoking.

His sig is latin btw, its latin for 'nobody understands me'. Hipster as it ****ing gets.

Dominating, and I mean dominating... Tarver, Wright and Tito.. imo are clearly better than dominating a green Hopkins and a outshape.. one division too low Toney. Not sure how you can see it otherwise.

 Tarver was as weight drained as Toney coming down from 210lbs, was inactive and past prime. Winky Wright was simply fat at 170lbs and Trinidad was 1 dimensional and smaller

And no he didn't dominate Winky, he scraped a decision with hip punches and headbutts
