I think it's ridiculous that how a hand is wrapped has garnered so much attention. I have news for you guys... hands wraps are for one thing and one thing only... the protection of a fighters hands and wrists. Tape is tape, and gauze is gauze. There is no magical combination of the two that will create punching power. Are some trainers better at wrapping hands then other? Absolutely, but all this discussion about how so n so wraps his hands is nonsense. In fact over wrapping a boxers hand is one of the worst things you can do because it compromises a fighters ability to make a tight fist. Being able to make a tight fist is the most important aspect of protecting a fighters hands.

Interesting. I wonder what (the other) boxers on ESB have to say about that.

Idk about that handwraps kan play a big tool in to how hard a punch is. the tighter u wrap, the more protection, the more power u kan throw with.

"hands wraps are for one thing and one thing only... the protection of a fighters hands and wrists." Do a little research on the history of boxing, Specifically research why boxing gloves and hand wraps came to be.

Ok... WHY? And are you telling me there is some magical combination of tape and gauze that somehow gifts a fighter with increased punching power?

Hand wraps protect a fighter's hands and wrists yes, that is there primary function, however look up one Antonio Margarito and you will see how hand wraps can become deadly weapons

I'm not gonna play expert, but it's pretty simple to me, if it didn't matter there would be no reason to have to monitor it, there would be no need to force re taping etc. Per those who make their living on this ****...seems to matter like motha****er.

its like when u stuff a wiffle bat to make it harder so the ball goes farther when u hit it. if u put paper in it, the ball wont go that far because it is not that dense like the gauze on hand wraps. now instead of just putting paper in the wiffle bat, put tape also. watch the difference now in the bat. it is way heavier and harder making the ball go farther when u make contact.

I said hand wraps... I said nothing about a foreign object being placed under the wraps.
