What happens if Steward pulled an Atlas on Wlad? Do you think Wlad would get a new trainer or just retire? I think a new trainer might bring back some ferocity in Wlad, but I wonder if he could continue without Manny.

    Why should he do this?

He'd continue and be fine, he knows enough know by himself imo, Steward refined his style and fine-tuned him, his gameplans may suffer a bit but I think he has enough about him from a perspective of experience, skillset and ring IQ to retire without anymore losses.

Just a hypothetical. It seems as though another world champion looked like **** without his trainer. Personally, I would hope Wlad is lightyears ahead of that champ in terms of maturity and independence and would continue. But ya never know.

I don't think it's Steward who is the cause of Wlad's overly cautious approach. I think he personally doesn't trust in his ability to take a punch, and beat his man in exchanges. Remember, Steward trained Tommy Hearns, who was one of the most exciting fighters ever!
