If Foreman had of had the heart of Povetkin could he have beaten Ali?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Ryan O'Reilly, Feb 28, 2012.

  1. Povetkin certainly showed what a fine warrior he is last weekend when his stamina was low with a long duration of the fight still to go. Did Povetkin give up though? No sirey bob. Povetkin being the warrior that he is and having learned his craft from Teddy Atlas was well prepared to "dig in and gut it out".

Now let's go back to Foreman's woeful attempt to beat Ali during the 'Rumble in the Jungle'. Foreman pathetically ran out of gas after only 3 rounds, he looked in a pitiful state. Once knocked down he infamously showed zero heart to get back up as he quit on his backside.

So this leaves the interesting question. Would Foreman have beaten Ali if he had the heart of Povetkin?

Foreman lost because he was outsmarted.. He was gassed and laid on his back in round 8 (I believe), no way he could have gotten up and won the fight..

:deal foreman actually fought ali. He already had the title too, he took it as a defense to prove he was the best.

Poveketkin's people have been chatting **** about fighting Wlad for several years now and have yet to do it. And I dont want to hear about inexperience. Foreman won the Olympic gold medal less than 2 years from the time he STARTED boxing.

Foreman had MORE heart than Potty Povetkin.

  10. Foreman is an ATG and had more heart than that chubby Russian slob.
Ali is the only man in the world who was able to beat Prime Foreman because he was tough enough to have his ribs smashed in for 8 rounds and who was quick enough and accurate enough to land the lead right hand consistently.

Oh I see what you mean now. Asking someone that's fought both foreman and povetkin so he has a good gaigue of who has the better heart.

If Foreman had no heart, he wouldn't have won the championship in his second career.
