For your information, it's not everybody that can handle this situation very well and I respect that. It's fun to be love by people close to you but when you cannot go into a public places and you have no private life anymore, this must be pretty hard. Money isn't everything. Basically, you're a moron.

 

What your narrow mind should realise is that depression is defined as a chemical imbalance in the brain. It can be caused by an endless list of things.

I thought the worst thing Hatton ever did was that first trip to welter against Collazo.
He looked good early on, but mid to end he was looking so unlike himself.

I thought at the time that the weight fluctuations were catching up with him because he looked exhausted in there. When Collazo was landing later in the fight Ricky's head would just snap back.

 

I remember that the Mayweather loss took a toll on him mentally. He was depressed and i think thought about retirement among other things

but then he scored that great victory over Malinaggi

Hatton was a great fighter, but Floyd and Manny are on a whole different planet, there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in losing to those guys

 

Sorry to break this to you guys, but he was fighting Manny ****ING Pacquiao.

You wanna talk about pressure? Pac's a GOD in his home country. When he fights in America, all Philipinos run to the TV. At Wildcard, they swarm outside the building when he's in town and even sometimes when he's not.

THAT'S pressure. It's not an excuse.

 

this was one of pacquiao's greatest wins, a mentally ill mayweather leftover.

 

pacland is going nuts this morning trying to suppress this story. Hatton wasnt supposed to be shot until after Poochaio fought him.

 

I'm glad Ricky didn't do anything drastic when he was depressed.

I think in the immediate aftermath of the Pac fight, his reputation was in question, people were slating his abilities, saying Khan would have destroyed him etc, which probably would have affected his mindset - everything he had worked to achieve being written off after the Pac and Mayweather losses.

Now, a bit of time has passed - and I think a lot of people recognise that Hatton was a really good, entertaining, tough, gutsy (perhaps flying in the face of common sense, he never took a step back in the Pac fight) fighter, who couldn't quite compete at the very highest elite level. But he wasn't far off. That's my two cents.

 

Some of you are so stupid it's sickening.

The mans head was all over the place, depression is a serious issue; add to that his retirement which leaves a large void in his life and you have a recipie for disaster.
Credit for Ricky Hatton for sorting himself out, and screw all of you who don't know what you're on about.

About the Pacquaio fight

Yes he was getting knocked about in sparring, Erindsay Lara was sent home because of how badly he was bashing Ricky up. Cornellius Lock did very well with Ricky, who was clearly weathered and over trained, if he was also not well as he said then it's a wonder that he even made it to the fight.

Add to that, Floyd senior deciding that 24/7 was the Floyd show, and that getting a taco was more important than training his fighter, the fact he used orthodox pads to train Hatton for Pacquaio, and his fall out with Lee Beard, it's just turmoil.

Knew something was up when Hatton came to the ring, he looked like a lamb going to slaughter, they played that new humour laced entrance song, when they should of had blue moon all the way to get the place rocking. Just a mess.

 

Isn't it nice that every single victory Pac has had is given this treatment?
