There was a thread like this about six months back, basically post your opinions that go against the general school of thought... 1. H2H Lennox Lewis is the greatest HW of all time. 2. Floyd Mayweather competes better with Ray Robinson than he does Ray Leonard 3. Saul Alvarez is no better than Chavez Jr 4. Both K brothers are ATG Heavyweights 5. Nazzim Richardson is the greatest trainer in the world. 6. Joe Calzaghe has a very good shot at beating SRR at 168lbs. 7. Julio Cesar Chavez is over rated. 8. Shane Mosley was injured going into the Pacquaio fight (Not to the extent he claims) 9. Juan Manuel Marquez beats Alexis Arguello in a fantasy matchup 10. The stoppage in Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor was correct What's yours?
Possibly, Ali is second on my list followed by Larry Holmes. (Long, long debate which I don't want to get into :-() Cafe' - Yes buddy, anything which goes against the conventional school of thought
Haha this thread was a bit mad in the classic forum, it should be completely off the wall in the general... Lol
Being top doesn't mean you beat everyone, just most :hey I'm too tired for that! Nuts and bolts would be : Lewis has a clear size advantage which he knows how to use. He uses his jab and fights a relaxed style so there would be no George Foreman style burn out (Ali was not getting dominated in his fight with Foreman, contrary to belief) Lewis keeps Ali at his range, using efficient footwork to re-position according to Ali's fancy steps, he's not stopping Ali, but fighting an educated fight it's conceivable that he wins a decision.
Prime Tyson is H2H the best heavyweight in history. Had he stayed out of jail and got his title shot, Ibebauchi would have dethroned Lennox and stayed on top. The trainer that would have worked best for De La Hoya during his career was Manny Steward, but he didn't stay with him long enough. Prime DLH would beat Pacquiao and Mayweather, stopping the former and decisioning the latter. Even the shot Mosley Floyd ended up facing instead of Berto back in 2010 would have KTFO Berto. And Berto knew this. Which is why he used the Haiti earthquake as an excuse to pull out of the fight. Floyd is a serious H2H problem for many greats and a H2H ATG, but his legacy is vastly inferior to his actual skills, and he has only accomplished about 60% of what he could have conceivably achieved had he cared about legacy. Also, he is not unbeatable, he just happens to exist in an era that isn't stacked, so he stands far above the fray as a result.
