TYSON: Just finished watching ALL of tyson's fights and...

... I have found nothing new, except that if you watch the Mark Young fight, the guy takes a dive. A bad one too, the punch never even lands, you can hear an almost embarrassed team of commentators trying to sell a punch to the viewer that didn't hit. The guy just bitched it. Also, I think the big irishman Mike Jameson was some tough guy, with a not terrible skillset. I was watching all these guys just falling over an thought, How would they do today? Some of the guys that Tyson fought were pretty good. Not great like! But decent fighters, so again, I ask you, how would some of these fighter do today? Thoughts..

I for one think that a prime Mitch 'Blood' Green would stand a very good chance of being a champion if he were around today.

 

Well I really cant see were you get Mike Jameson as somthing of quality. Tyson's early opponents were a very poor lot. But I'm sure you think they would all be champions today.atsch

 

Sure, the first 18 fighters he fought weren't anything special but he destroyed them like a real HW would have instead of carefully jabbing from a distance and holding them to a UD.

 

I never said he was a great fighter, I just thought at his level he would of been good. he was certainly tough. he took some real bombs from tyson in that early going and got up to have another go after getting knocked down by a terrific combination. He wouldnt of been a champion no, but maybe a rank or two higher than then! I was just remarking on how tough he was. You pleb.

 

Yes, i somewhat agree with you mate. But styles make fights and Tyson jus had the crowding in your face style to beat em all. coupled with the speed, the incredible hitting and power off of that speed. it made him an absolute force. Man, i wish someone like that was around today. Only with less ****.

Yeah, definitely. I feel that Vitali would of gotten beaten aswell, but maybe not knocked out. If the big punching Corrie Sanders can wobble him, I think Tyson wobbles him also. Gets inside and stays inside. BUT, I do beleive that even a prime Tyson is beatable.

 

Prime Vitali would stand a good chance of beating Mike, but todays version doesn't have the proper escape-route skills to deal with the pressure, he could get stopped, but I'm leaning towards a Mike Tyson decision in a pretty awesome affair between the two.

Wladimir, I know.. does not like pressure, I don't care what anyone says, pressure and pressure alone can be enough to break him, Mike Tyson not only would be the most relentless fighter Wladimir ever stepped in with, he'd also be the most powerful, the fastest and the one with the best headmovement (arguably the best conditioning too).

Wladimir would be in deep, deep ****.

Comparing that to the combind record of 378-87-4 for Alexander Povetkin's first 18.
It's clear Tyson fought bums for the most part..
