A lot of people have given him criticism because of the poor quality of his opposition. I think it could have been better but I was never majorly critical either, as it wasn't his fault he wasn't in the Super 6. However, what he's doing by fighting Froch is worthy of credit. He's fighting an elite fighter in Carl Froch, and not only that, he's also fighting in England where the fans will boo the **** out of him. He didn't have to do that but he's showing that he wants to prove people wrong, which is a great sign.

Maybe his opposition wasn't great in the past. However, that belongs in the past and hopefully he can start being in the big fights we all want to see.

Yes credit to him (finally) and I fully expect him to TKO Froch.

I agree, everyone always rightfully shits on him being a padded hometown fighter, but he shows balls by fighting Froch in nothingham.

Based on what? Bute having substantially more power than Kessler?

He's got more accurate punches with a powerful body attack, if he mixes his attack up he'll cause Froch a lot of problems and I see him hitting Froch with a lot of punches he doesn't see coming which will hurt him more then anything Kessler and Ward landed on him.

I look forward to this one. Winner to take on Ward late in the year if everything is right in the world. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to get big fights signed anymore with all of the promotors and networks putting up roadblocks at every turn.

    Makes sense to me.

Well. Especially if Ward's next fight is his last on Showtime... in which case Bute's last fight on Showtime would have to be Dirrell, Froch rematch or even BHop (even though Hopkins declined 170, and wanted 171 to meet Bute - prior to the Dawson fight being signed) before he meets Ward on HBO.

What is wrong with you guys? Really Froch is an elite fighter. The guy struggled with pascal and you call him elite. Damn, what has boxing gone to? Froch is nowheer near elite and neither is Bute.

Bute wanted to fight Ward, but Ward refused................Ward refused to fight in his own tournament if Bute was allowed to fight. Ward was the only boxer who did not have to travel. Bute wants to fight Ward ASAP, but Ward is on the run.................

Talk about someone who only fights in his home town.................

You forgot to mention the lower pay day.

    Facts. Bute:

    1. Is willing to fight the toughest opponents and demanded to

    2. Is willing to travel and fight in their backyards (which are not exactly known for being objective)

    3. Is willing to take ( alledgedly) LESS money to make said fights happen.

Variance: What new excuse will Ward come up with for when this fight with Froch is over?
