i think this will be a statement fight for Bute so i agree. But Froch too! Let me explain.

listen, bute's risking the most here. at least $1 million less in revenues (Nottingham is NOT Montreal), travelling to hostile crowd for the first time ever, putting his title on the line against foreign judges, and by far the biggest risk is....getting KTFO or even looking bad enough for Showtime to decide they also don't want to buy Bute vs Ward.

Froch too is risking a lot. another loss and his next fight is for $50K unless he moves up to fight Cleverly which i bet he never considered. A win and then a harp plays and the heavens open up and there's Ken Hershman with a 7 figure contract just for Carl.

I expect both to fight like it's their last fight

If Froch loses a wide UD, he waits for Kessler-Froch II to happen and cash in before a potential move to 175.

If Froch loses a close UD, Hearn pushes for a rematch in Canada or on some undercard where Ward is the main event on Showtime.

If Froch loses by KO/TKO, I can see him moving up to fight Cleverly then retire.

If Froch wins, his career spikes up for the better again.

It would be funny if, after the fight (considering bute wins), he is asked about a fight with ward and he replies: if ward wants a shot at me he has to fight a top fighter outside the US :))

everyone with reason thinking Bute...but they...ok who am i fooling...me....can't wrap our heads around this whole Nottingham thingy. by God did Lucian ever catch us by surprise with this. And of course the fact he said "no" to a million more bucks in MTL or Quebec City.

i hate to address the elephant in the room but didn't journalists confirm the deal was not done yet? why is this such a minor point i mean wake up people we are on page 5. wake up and smell the napalm.

sorry, still high on the "bute is going to UK" fumes holy **** those are powerful.

Mean Bute must come out of his shell if he wins against Froch.

Talk some **** about Ward. Say "You know what? Andre Ward needs to stop somebody."

Couple tv related details for Hearn to take care of is all is left to do. Or so I hope.

Don't forget Froch is gonna be 35 in july... How many years does he have left?

I also think it's gonna be a 2-fight deal. Depending on the result we may see a rematch in Canada.

Also, can you explain why Froch would better at 175lbs? Unless he really has problem making 168...

    Anyways, great fight to come.

    Good luck to both fighters.

that's what i think. obviously bute and interbox surprised hearn and froch by agreeing to such smaller revenues. at that point the fight just fell on eddie hearns' lap. not much else for him to do than say "ummmm well....ok?"

I guess you won't be watching the fight then.
Good for you, go and wait for Mayweather to fight Pacman

    It a less talented division.
There are Champions like Cleverly and Cloud, who he can beat far more easily than Ward, Bute, Kessler.
He already beat one of the best fighter from 175(Pascal).

Thanks to both fighters. Fans will be able to live some great moments.

PityTheFool, we are not one against each other. We're going to live something together. We may prefer the guy in the opposite corner and only one will prevail but hey, that is boxing. May the best man win.

I agree. This is one of those "two of my favourite fighters start the night as gods, one leaves as a broken-dejected-crippple" fights. Bring It The **** ONNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happy
